The only move I have is making it a five way unless someone really wants to shake things up.
Ehh. We've got lucky in the past but I don't find a bunch of vote changes all that helpful.
Anyone feel like pushing Potent in a runoff?
I'm not opposed to anyone in the runoff at this point... But I feel like you are retaliating a little. You put me in the runoff because I voted for you. Now Potent put you in and you want him in. I can see the other side of the coin though where he doesn't want LLL to "slip by" and then boom. Vote change. I think day 1 we tend to attack people who make these kind of moves, and mostly they are townies making them.
JR, I wouldn't mind you moving off of Jaz to put Potent in. Maddog's posts were somewhat confused when he stacked Jaz, so I don't have a problem seeing Jaz fall out. The downside would be Maddog getting his vote back.
I would like Maddog to stay in too. It seemed odd that he had a basis for his vote (being he wanted to stack the only one who started a stack), but it was sloppy as there were other options that fit his reasoning. Again though, I think we tend to attack the townies who mess up so I don't want laser vision going forward.

I don't think including anyone who has made odd moves in the runoff qualifies as tunnel-vision yet. We might as well do it. I'm not trying to lynch anyone right away, but the people who have made noise (there aren't many) could use some scrutiny.
Tainted Opossum, could we have an extension so that we can talk this out a little bit more?

I agree with you that they deserve a better look day 1 for sure. I'm just saying I'm not laser focused on anyone right now and day 2 we should take a broad look. Things like this can get ugly and be used to mafia advantage.

I completely agree. I think that, if anything, including Potent means we have less chance of getting tunnel-vision and going all-in on Maddog on Day 1.
I got pulled into an outage call at work moments after my last post. Thinking it over more, I like to move early mostly to get on the quiet people. Since we only have the single post from Jaz, I'm not going to bother moving right now. But I do bear in mind that Jaz is typically quiet on D1.
What the heck? Why are we talking about putting Potent in? I didn't find his vote switch that suspicious. I find the quiet players who came out just to try and put him in the runoff are more suspicious tbh.

can confirm my posts were confused, i was drunk through most of my being stuck at home during flood. this is also my first day back at work in a week so I'll try to check in, but might not be too active until after i leave.
as far as potent, i agree with his vote change and the reasoning (maybe because it was more coherent than mine), so i'm a little reluctant to throw him to the wolves. i am not tied to jaz though so i can be persuaded to move. there's just not a lot to go off right now and i feel good about having a 4-way runoff with 3 free votes in the next round.

Also I want to say ahead of time that it's getting to be busy season at work so my contributions may be limited, especially during the daytime.
Just posting a reminder of this.
I didn't find Potent's switch particularly interesting, though perhaps unnecessary. If anything I think it makes the people calling for him to go forward in the runoff look better, because I think it's unlikely for the Mafia to gun for a specific player this early in the game.

I was going voting partners, but missed the fact you already had a vote from someone else.

There's nothing about Jaz's quietness that is suspicious to me or warrants his inclusion in the runoff. He always starts games quiet. I think if he stays in, he's not going to get much of a look, so I see it as somewhat of a waste.
I'll repeat that putting Potent in the runoff is not the same as lynching him. Whether what he did is suspicious, I can't really say, but it is noteworthy, and so far this game very few people have done much that is noteworthy. Potent, Maddog, and LD are probably the most noteworthy players so far. At least two of them will most likely be in this runoff. It's fine with me to stay at two or move to three.

I think it's odd that you're trying to punish Potent for trying to get people talking (and hey it worked). By your logic you're saying that it is best for town to not do anything besides vote in round one? Literally all mafia has to do is sit back and not to anything "noteworthy".

Perfect. Thanks.
My response to other conversation: This early in the game you have to jump at people. For better or worse, it makes the game move. I've said things before that I know will get me in trouble just to get the game moving. Jumping on Potent (even though it didn't happen) may have been misguided, but action leads to reaction, which leads to more reactions. Eventually it helps paint a picture about a lot more than just the original target.

I'm here. Packing for a festival I am going to tonight. I will check in as I can. I usually get a good signal out there so should be able to vote no problem tomorrow by noon.
That being said. I kind of took Potent's initial vote for me as a joke carried over from last game. And overall I am satisfied with the run-off, since it is first round and we don't know anything. I would have been equally satisfied if I stayed in. I also agree with SFA. I think a ton of vote changes being done by townies doesn't help anyone except that townie maybe, (in their own mind), but confuses the rest of us. But I get what others are saying.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Makes no sense to kick someone (Zolah) out of a runoff if nobody is willing to join me putting someone else in.
That and if I move, do people think I'm saving Zolah? Cause that this point, I have no idea who anyone is. And I don't care about Zolah, unless she's the Inspector.

When someone alters the make-up of the runoff when Town is voting randomly and Mafia is voting purposefully, I think that, yes, there is reason to suspect that person might be Mafia. Is that really so hard to understand?
And if we are going to put Potent in, I think it's good that LD didn't move first and take Zolah out. That would be suspicious to me. That's why if we put Potent in I would like to see Zolah stay in and Jaz to come out.

I'm not the inspector. I'm also not mafia. I am town.
If you are town, you should be concerned about me (or anyone else) potentially being mafia. If you're mafia, you should be concerned about me (or anyone else) being inspector. (Of course you'd want to save the inspector as town too, but ultimately, townies are hunting the bad guys and the bad guys are hunting the inspector).
I voted for you out of fun because you haven't played in a while, but I can't help but give you a second glance with your two retaliations and this post. Maybe it's nothing, but it's something I am taking note of.

So are you saying you think that potent is suspicious? What I don't understand is you (and others) are trying to push Potent into the runoff for trying to get the game moving. Also it sounds like you're saying town has absolutely no reason to switch votes which is absolutely false. In fact, last game only townies moved their vote in round 1 (which made us mafia very happy).
This round is scheduled to end on Friday September 1st at 7pm - Is this a good time for everyone or am I not following a rule of some
Initial rounds (round 1 of days) are 36 hours. Runoff rounds (rounds 2-3-4) of days are 24 hours. Unless you are unavailable tomorrow at 2pm, then use your discretion.
