I know some of these bands are repeat performers but I am just glad that Forecastle hasn't gone all "let's please the high school kids" like a lot of other festivals. Thanks, Forecastle.
do we think we'll be able to use street team points for this? i have enough points for two tickets and it's close enough that we could drive down for the weekend without taking off work.

They've been able to be used before. I think it was 13k a ticket. I would email them to check.
Here is another resource for searching festivals. This one has an interactive map that lets you search by location. Drill down on a festival and you can see basic info, lineup summary and link to the festival home site. This one is also especially nice if you are into European festivals as they post a lot of reviews for those on the home page.
How does MM keep getting high profile fest spots? Isaac's substance abuse issues make it near impossible to see a quality set from them now,
When's the last time you saw them? I've seen them 5 times in the past few years and he's been on point at each show. I was on the stage for the HL show at Sloss a few years ago and he seemed fine when he walked right by me leaving the stage before returning for the encore.

This looks like 2/3rds of a line-up to me, about the same as last years. Really solid 2/3rds though.
Strange how Forecastle took an edm/pop detour last year and have now mostly gone back to their roots. Love seeing Misty, Barnett and Vile on there. Margo Price and Jenny Lewis too.
Go away Houndmouth and how is NF so high? Otherwise, not bad.

I missed I'm With Her buried down on the lineup. Really wish we could have shared them at Sloss. I've seen Sarah Jarosz, Sara Watkins, and Aoife O'Donovan solo numerous times and what I have heard of their collaboration is stellar.
sent a message to fancorps and i'll let you guys know if/when they get back to me about street team tickets. any recommendations for specific hotels or areas for airbnb for this?

Finally getting to sit down and look at this thing...
The Bad: The rap and dance is weak and almost non-existent. This festival had RTJ, Vince Staples, LCD, Odesza, Griz, tons of stuff in that category last year. It was awesome. This year is T-Pain, Louis the Child, Vic Mensa, uh...NF, Hippie Sabotage, Jai Wolf? I haven't listened to those last 3 in any way whatsoever. So, I hope that is somewhat addressed in the additions.
The good: I care about seeing approx. 15 of the top 22 names. Couldn't really ask for more than that. It's heavy on mid-tempo rock, indie and country but the names they got are extremely solid. They nailed the core demographic of the Louisville hipster market, I promise.
Overall, I rate it a B to B+. I'll be there, but I really liked the diversity of last year and was hoping that would stick around.

Take away all the acts that have played Forecastle already, and the acts that play KY/TN 2-3 times a year, and all you're left with is Arcade Fire. This lineup is fucking lazy.

And for someone who hasn't been to the festival before and isn't near KY/TN this lineup is great. It works both ways.

Uh excuse you - T-Pain and Louis the Child would like a word.
Also, Courtney Barnett has never played here before as far as I know. Father John Misty had one sold out date here like 3 years ago. Stapleton hasn't been back since he got huge.
What's the upside of not getting Eminem'd? I feel like that's worth at least 5 competent but un-exciting acts.

Never been to this and don't live near Louisville so I could give two shits that a lot of these acts are repeats. This is one of the more unique lineups of THIS year, so this is probably the play for me. Hopefully Louisville is fun.

and it’s not like Kentucky is a cool enough state to have enough stuff to do throughout the day when the schedule wears thin. If it were two days, I’d consider it, but it’s not worth the three days.
Do they have a shuttle to get to the fest site from anywhere? How is the uber situation? Looking at places now
Went in 2015, stayed at Hilton Seelbach downtown, like a 10 min walk to the fest, well lit and safe. Beautiful hotel, fun fest, ends early, not a ton of nightlife outside the tourist-y places on 4th st.
