I never get too worked up about anything until I see something definite. This one just went from nothing to reports everywhere within an hour of the game ending. At least wait for the press conference. Geez.

Yeah, I'm joking. College rankings are just really dumb. None of the voters watch the games and it's pretty much all just based on record.

I'd say brand name has more unwarranted impact than record. Once a team (or conference) gets to a certain level, they get a bonus when it comes to ranking. It also happens with preseason rankings. If a team is top five preseason, they basically have to lose to fall out of the top five regardless of how the teams below them are playing. After next weekend, I'd really like to see what everyone's playoff teams are because I don't think they'll be all the same.
