I am definitely surprised at how high up Incubus gets booked. I guess they only play the fests willing to do that. I love their earlier output but man have their last couple albums been shit. Although I did choose to not even listen to all of the last one. Still would have liked to see them, though, especially with how lacking this lineup is of rock bands.

Agreed their last few albums aren’t anywhere near same quality as their older stuff. They still put on a great live show and their setlist normally consists of a lot of their earlier output.

The bunbury lineup is sick for the price, Blink 182 would be billed much higher at Roo than you think, and Incubus live is amazing if you haven't seen I would strongly consider checking them out. Roo has been unable to book much of the undercard acts from Bunbury in the last few years I have been trying to catch these acts every year hoping Roo lands them.
Skynyrd would be a decent addition for Roo, if you don't think Freebird and Sweet Home Alabama would be some solid jams no doubt! We are certainly missing the Classic Rock segment this year at the top!
Roo's incentive for adding more to the top is simply me from a numbers standpoint, their ticket sales are down every year the past few years, and they aren't any better this year from what my industry insiders tell me, and they have invested more in the farm in terms of infrastructure, they are going to need to sell more tickets this year to maintain any type of threshold on the fest market which is increasingly competitive year to year. If they don't make more adds they simply won't get the turnout they are accustomed to, its not rocket science, and as one of you stated its "common sense".
If you think this lineup has potential to land closer to 100k in attendance you will be the one who is let down at the end of the day. Because people are dogging Muse but its one of our only kind of exclusive bookings for a fest out East so far, because Killers and Eminem are being whored out to anybody who is paying at the top of all lineups. They are playing Carolina Rebellion in may but thats pretty much it for Muse out east, I am actually fired up for them because I was at Lolla last year when it got rained out 3 songs in.
I literally paid $20 to see Sheryl Crow with Willie nelson and many other quality acts last year, on the Outlaw Country Fest ticket , so her being billed that high is extremely cheap. Overall I see Roo just getting extremely cheaper year by year with their Bookings its disgraceful.

1. Blink 182 sucks 2. A Lynyrd Skynyrd cover band is not a good booking 3. Attendance was up last year 4. You don’t have any insider friends 5. They never add anyone that high 6. Muse playing Carolina Rebellion makes them not an exclusive 7. Stop talking out of your ass

Some of you have very high expectations about these artist additions. Best case scenario we get acts on the caliber of like Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers added.
Personally I love both of them, so I'm just putting that out in the universe in hopes it becomes a reality.

I am not talking out of my ass, you are a pompous snob who thinks he knows all when in all reality you don't know jack.
The attendance was closer to where they wanted it last year but overall the last 5 years things are down for most part since '15.
They are selling less tickets, and while the Carolina Rebellion booking doesn't make them exclusive , I said it makes them as close to our most exclusive booking at the top next to Bon Iver and his 2 sets which is true. Stop trying to hate just to hate.
Ticket sales are down this year for Roo and my guess is they won't be up year to year over last by the time its said and done.

Please point to one time in the recent Roo’s where they have added anyone who would be billed as high as Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I guess you'd have to define what "recent" is an how highly billed you'd expect Lynyrd Skynyrd.
2012 saw late additions of fun. and the Danzig Legacy. 2015 saw D'Angelo and Kacey Musgraves.

Recent as in since LN took over booking. Not to mention, Skynyrd would be at least top 8 given that they play amphitheater’s. I also believe this guy suggested Roo could add another HL.

I have high hopes for the fest, and I hear LN plans to try to push to expand the fest to a 2 weekend event similar to Coachella in future years, but we can't expect to see this growth without doing things differently than they have in the past. Something about doing the same and expecting different , isn't that insanity?
Maybe the fest is in fact dying and in 3-5 years we will look back at this as one of the best lineups since '10. I think if they booked a few more solid acts at the top they would be able to push that 100k in attendance that they are looking for or closer to a true sell out.
But maybe they don't want to hit those types of numbers. And Maybe Dua Lipa,Khalid will surprise me with star studded performances.

Live Nation wants to make Roo a 2 weekend event? Ticket sales are low this year? Where are you getting this info? Not trying to argue with you or anything I'm genuinely curious.

They definitely are not looking for 100k since I don't believe they've ever hit that. And no one here is expecting/hoping for 100k as your previous post mentioned. I think most everyone believes they'll once again land in the 55-65k range. Also there's no way there are any plans to make a festival in the middle of Tennessee that has seen major drops in attendance the last two years a 2-weekend event.

Wow I actually had yet another friend hit me up today saying they want to get a crew together for Roo. That's 6 or 7 of us so far. People shit on this lineup but I think it really appeals to the 30+ year olds.

A more likely conclusion may be that you and your friends have similar tastes.
FWIW, I'm not shitting on this lineup, just the conclusion that you plus five of your friends like the lineup + you're all over thirty = the lineup up really appeals to people over thirty.
