Eminem is doing essentially the same set just with two songs from Revival on it. It’s good that we only have to listen to two of those awful songs, but it sucks that the rest of the set is the same. At least he’s still doing Just Don’t Give A Fuck.
I think those numbers were wrong for 13 and 14. I remember seeing updated numbers and 2015 outsold 2014 (they were both in the 70,000-75,000 range). I'll try to find that source again.

Really puts into perspective how important an undercard is. You could put 2016 HL's with any other undercard and it would've sold 70k easily.

It's also not a glowing endorsement of Pearl Jam as a #1.

Wow , people just telling me to stop talking why am I not surprised?
Why wouldn't they want Roo to hit 100k in attendance and extend to a 2 weekend event?
Sounds like some of you are afraid of change or live in fear of having 4 Realheadliners like Roo has had before?
So many haters.
These are just reported tickets sold and don't count the attendance for friends and family of artists attending, and other people who work/ "volunteer" for the fest and end up getting free wristbands. On years when the lineup sucks there are less volunteers and friends and fam aren't as interested in going either, so attendance can vary with those factors also.
When I say attendance I am counting all of those people, when I speak of ticket sales I can tell you that they are lower this year than they were the past 2 years at this point. I have a decent sized crew going this year, a first timer rolling out who's wanted to go every year since '15 but hasn't been able to make it.
Don't spend all your time being rude, it gets you nowhere in life.

I don't think anyone is stating opposition to the idea of a fourth headliner, what they are saying is that it's improbable at best. This is a festival that has lost its way and there is no reason to think that they have been inspired to become better.
I'm not sure what your point is about "friends and family" tickets. Volunteers are required to purchase a ticket so that would certainly be counted in ticket sales even if it is reimbursed afterwards. You can count whoever you want in what you consider attendance. Generally speaking, I believe that the reported attendance by media outlets refers to tickets sold. They usually also reference 10K or so in staff, artists and crews.
It's great that you have friends going just don't try to sell us on your anecdotal evidence as being indicative of an overall festival trend.
This is generally a board that values evidence. If people think that you are making conclusions that aren't based on anything, they are likely to call you out on it. The more confidently that you state your opinions as fact (and, BTW, there's a thread for that), the more likely you are to get pushback.

Because they can't. Even if they were to book a good enough lineup to somehow attract 100k people it would be too crowded.
Sounds like some of you are afraid of change or live in fear of having 4 Realheadliners like Roo has had before?
Live in fear of Roo having 4 headliners? Wtf are you talking about? We're just being realistic in assuming Bonnaroo won't be able to book 4 headliners.
So many haters.
If by haters what you mean is "someone who actually thinks reasonably and doesn't spread bullshit without providing any sources," then yes.

That amount of people is far, far, far less than ticket sales. 2016 had a drop in 40,000 ticket sales. Volunteers/friends and family of the bands is far less than that could ever be.

drakebythelake most festivals simply don't have four headliners. this is not a controversial statement. and your propensity to take offense every time someone contradicts you makes you appear less like a real person and more like a troll account. a pretty hilarious troll account if so. if you are just fucking with us bravo.

The idea of Bonnaroo ever being two weekends is pretty ridiculous. Like even if they never started to fall off after 2014/2015, it would still be pretty much impossible to get to that point. There are just way too many European festivals conflicting during that time frame. Bonnaroo already has a hard enough time competing with those festivals as it is.
I feel comfortable sayin’ drakebythelake is either a troll or totally insane. Bonnaroo will never be a two weekend fest. It’s already hot as fuckin’ balls fer one weekend, so I feel confident they’ll never do “Two Weekends Of Positive Vibes and Hi-Fives” in the middle of June in the middle of TN. I’ll put money down now on that bet. And yeah, as many have pointed out the attendance numbers over the last five years say that that would be a poor investment by the promoters and bookin’ agents.
Again, the more likely option that those bastards at LiveNation are lookin’ at will be to use The Farm a few times a year as a genre-specific festival destination. The glory days are gone. We will likely never see anythin’ like ‘05-‘15 on The Farm ever again. Those of us that were there (I started in ‘07) know how fuckin’ amazeballs it was, and we would just ‘bout kill to see them again. But that ship has sailed.

So does anything constructive happen in this thread or do you guys just spend all of your free time picking each other apart and getting a good bash in when you can?
The facts you claim that you go by aren't facts at all, the ticket graph you shared doesn't have real numbers on it, the artists are correct though.
Hard to believe industry insiders could live in Ohio ?
I had more respect for all of you when I would just read the things you post on here, but now that I joined in I can't believe the amount of ignorance and hate displayed.

Hopefully your'e all a lot more fun in person.
Just a bunch of keyboard warriors with nothing better to do than hate on people you don't know for having opinions about a fest you won't be attending anyways.

I think Roo could sell out two weekends with a good headliner. Eminem is a start.
Remember which year had the highest attendance ever? It was the year Eminem played. I'm honestly surprised tickets are still available let alone barely selling.

No, apparently 2011 was not the highest attended year ever because those numbers are fake. Somehow.

Because Eminem is literally everywhere this festival season.
