That Thursday is awful and the lineup looks worse with the day by day breakdown
I kind of really agree with this. I didn't mind the line up all together, but seeing the breakdown i'm kinda bummed. I don't get how people can say the line up is "deep"

On the one hand it’s good that Thursday is pretty much trash because it made the other three days fairly tolerable. On the other hand, just make it a three day fest.

I will never understand people who say an overall lineup appears to be worse once broken down day by day. You knew how shitty the lineup was before. You knew how many artists you wanted to see. Let's say that number was 30. Those 30 acts are still here! They either distributed them evenly or not. Comment on the balance of the days.
I always view it as a failure to process the original poster when someone makes that comment.

If they put everything good on one day then the whole lineup would look worse when broken down by day.
I wouldn't even do that. I'm not even sure I'd use street points on it. We make fun but it really makes me sad.
I guess the schedule will count for a lot, but being able to see Bon Iver, Paak, Chic, Brockhampton, Mavis, Pond and Moses Sumney in one day would be pretty solid. But those first four have strong conflict potential now that I think about it.
Exactly. That's the same bands I would want to see. If any of them conflict you end up with a very weak day. And that's the best day.

Right. So commenting on the distribution of acts makes sense. Saying something like, "they stacked Saturday too heavy so the other days suck" I get. But I get the sense with a lot of the general comments any time any festival releases their Day By Day breakdown that it simply becomes more clear to people, or reminds them, how bad the original lineup is.

The acts I'm most excited for are all playing Saturday (Bon Iver, Anderson Paak, Sylvan Esso, Nile Rodgers/CHIC, Brockhampton, & WSN).. so that's gonna be painful when the schedule drops :/ Bon Iver and Nile Rodgers have the most priority for me so I'm hoping those two don't overlap.

I'd like to see them put the Superjam in a non-LN slot. It doesn't have to be LN. Have it close a tent or even an afternoon tent. Give people something cool and unique to look forward to before the headliners.
I feel like they will do a better job at scheduling this year. Last year seemed like an improvement iirc. Though if I were only hoping to see 3 bands a day I would be pretty upset if they conflicted.

That's correct. The scheduling last year saved everything as much as it could. It is easier to schedule when there is less you want to see, but if they do fuck up, it's all the more damaging.
I honestly think it broken up by the day by day makes it look a lot better. Plus Thursday looks awesome, Space Jesus, Opiuo, Clozee, PPPP, Spafford, Topaz Jones. Friday, 13 People id like to see, Saturday 11 and Sunday 10 artists. Almost 40 artists total, this really isn’t a bad lineup, just hope they don’t fuck up the schedule for me but I’m sure I’ll get to see plenty that I want and find even more people when the schedule does come out.

My initial breakdown is:
Thursday: Space Jesus, Elohim, Clozee, Topaz Jones Friday: Muse, Khalid, Virtual Self, Rufus Du Sol, Tash Sultana, Shiba San, Japanese Breakfast Saturday: Bon Iver, Anderson Paak, Sylvan Esso, Nile Rodgers/CHIC, STS9, Brockhampton, What So Not, Billie Eilish, LANY, Knox Fortune, Pond, Duckwrth, Post Animal Sunday: The Killers, Alt-J, Broken Social Scene, Jungle, Daniel Caesar, Thundercat, Alex Lahey
I will probably spend a good part of Thursday and Friday checking out some non-music activities. Saturday is really stacked, I'm gonna have crazy conflicts that day. Sunday has the potential to be real good depending how everything is scheduled.

i'm biased, but it makes sense to have a New Orleans artist lead a superjam since they participate in superjams 365 days a year in their home city. they know how to go with the flow and keep it funky.
