I think we just want to believe they'll actually give Bon Iver a late night set.
Your scenario is also very possible
I mean if his second set is completely in the dark I don't think it really matters. I'd rather it be on the What Stage anyways.
Edit: I also think if Tame Impala was pre-headling on the What Stage it would have been a better show.
Yeah the last couple years they’ve been trending towards having the headliners start later
Used to be around 9 but last year it was around 11. So that contributes to shorter “late nights” but also gives an extra “night time” set on the what stage since sunset is around 9
Wouldn't it make the most sense for Bon Iver to do two sets back to back on the What Stage? One while the sun is going down and one in the 8:45-10:00pm timeslot (So like 6:45-8:00, then 8:45-10:00). That seems like it would logistically work the best. Anderson.Paak closes the Which Stage, Kaskade is late night Which, and Glitch Mob or somebody else closes The Other
If this were to happen, I feel like Nile Rodgers would move into the LN Which position. Without Kaskade, the biggest act that could close out The Other is Glitch Mob, and while they'd be good for that slot imo, I also don't think they're quite big enough of a name for it. Big Gigantic and Marshmello filled those slots last year, and were both in the top 5 on their respective days - Glitch Mob isn't even top 10 on Saturday.
Exactly what I was thinking. I could see them scheduling Brockhampton & CHIC the same way they did RTJ & EWF in 2015.

Also I'd hate to see/can't picture Paramore getting stuck with a mid day spot. I'm picturing Khalid > Paramore > Muse of the What, with Sturgil closing the Which.
Thought on Thursday - I doubt they sell many single-day tickets on Thursday. From a business standpoint it is probably better to keep any act that draws and sells tickets on Fri/Sat/Sun.

Khalid is billed right ahead of Paramore though, so I don't think they'd put him before them.

I don't think they sell many single day tickets at all. From what I remember they sell a very limited amount for each day, and you're forced to take a shuttle or something.

Yep, forced to take the shuttle, and after fees it comes out to like $220 or something. Ridiculous.

What Stage: Sheryl Crow (6:45-7:45) > Sturgill Simpson (8:45-10:00) > Muse (11:00-12:45) Which Stage: Paramore (7:45-8:45) > Khalid (10:00-11:00)
Sturgill does seem pretty weird in that spot, but maybe they're doing something unique for his show. He is billed at #6.
Random question, but does the What pit have middle barriers running through it or is it just one big pit? If I go I'd want pit for Muse but would prefer not being in the middle of a packed crowd (I'm pretty short).
After seeing those newly announced 2018 US tour dates for Depeche Mode in,the northeast...how the fuck did Bonnaroo, Gov Ball, and Boston Calling all miss out on them? Replace Eminem with DM on any of those lineups and its absolutely better.

As far as I've been able to tell, nope. But they limit the # of people that can be in the pit to where it isn't ridiculously packed. I've had plenty of breathing room every time I've been in the pit.

Lots of good copy/pastas out there today. It’s too bad.
Honestly I could probably not see a single show and still have the time of my life. Last year things got a little weird at our campsite on Friday and we ended up staying there for like an extra two and a half hours without even realizing it and missed U2. It was a night that we will all forever remember. My entire crew considers it one of the best nights of our lives!

Missing the headliner because of having fun at camp is a staple of Roo lol

Usually it doesn't but it depends on the artist and their setup.

Until a couple of years ago the Which stage had the aisle down the middle. Now both big stages are open and there is lots of room in the pit. Note that about 20% of the Which stage pit is carved out for VIP.

Ah I totally forgot Khalid was billed higher.
I'm really excited to see both Paramore and Muse and want good spots for both, so I really hope they don't have Paramore closing the Which. I'm too old to be running back and forth lol

Yep I'm really hoping there's time in between them so I can get pit for both.
I'm starting to lean towards Bon Iver having b2b LN sets on Which. 12:45-1:45 then 2:00-3:00. Tame was supposed to play 1-3 in 2016 so it'd be similar to that, and Flume started at 12:45 on Which last year.
Edit: I take that back actually. That would likely mean 2 of the top 3 acts of that day would be late night, which seems unlikely. I'm still thinking Bon Iver will be b2b sets, but preheadlining on What. Though that would mean the pre-headline show would be longer than the actual headline show.
