Yeeeep that’s where I have him in my mock rn. In general I’m interested in which hip-hop artists play the Other. Cos there’s a *lot* or dance/EDM this year, to the point where I’m not entirely sure any rappers will perform on The Other.
They still have it advertised as dance and hip hop. But yeah based on mock schedules, it seems like that stage is already completely filled with just edm.
Is it possible that some of the smaller edm acts just play Kalliope/Barn/Silent Disco sets?

2019 Shows: 4/30 - Vampire Weekend 6/28 - Father John Misty & Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit 9/6 - Cardi B w/ Teyana Taylor 9/28 - Vulfpeck w/ The Fearless Flyers

It's definitely possible, I guess we'll just have to wait and see

This is what I was thinking as well. The Christmas Barn kinda became a bigger deal last year IMO.

Realized that it was around this time last year where we got our first artist additions, so I wouldn't be surprised to see an act or two announced with The Other announcement this week. Though, like I've said before, there's already a pretty heavy load of acts who have the potential to play there. Thinking they likely start sets earlier on The Other this year than they did last year.

Wasn't it because late night sets ended at 3am and there was no Kalliope stage to keep people occupied? Because I honestly don't remember anything different about the Christmas Barn. Although after five Bonnaroos I still haven't been inside....

Last year they had 15 minute transitions between acts on Other. They could reduce that to 5 mins, similar to the way EDC and Ultra run their stages. They'd be able to fit an extra set or two in there for the time saved.
Also, any hip hop that has a live band will not be on Other.

I'm pretty sure DRAM had a live band.
Also Big Gigantic had some significant live instrumentation. Don't think it's so much a requirement as it is a tendency to not have full band set-ups.
But yeah this is why I'm unsure whether acts like Justin Jay & RUFUS are gonna end up on the Other or not. Also, plenty of hip-hop acts who *didn't* have live band set-ups ended up playing elsewhere (e.g., Flatbush, Russ).

You're right, I didn't attend this set. That's pretty impressive they got everything set up with only a 15min break.

If you only have to set up live instruments for one act during the day and one act late night it shouldn't be too difficult.
one of the rad things about a stage with a simple dual DJ setup is there is literally seconds of downtime between sets. not possible with electronic acts with more complex setups, but this was one of the more delightful parts of my Movement experience last year. The ending DJ winds down, the next DJ up is already on stage next to her. Crowd cheers as the last song ends, ending DJ claps to the crowd, next DJ claps to the ending DJ, then immediately turns to her equipment and begins the first song of her set. Zero down time is so fucking awesome and so exhausting as well. But like I said I know this isn't possible in all electronic music situations.

Its worth going inside once just to see it. I have found, fuzzy memories of the prince robe rage in 2016.

The line always seems too long whenever I consider going

One of the most awesome things ever is having friends over and putting the ipod shuffle on all night, no downtime, just full raging

Didn't look which one it was but DRAM definitely played a tent last year. Think This. But I remember over hearing him from a tent of some sort

Nothing, except the fact that it and the silent disco were the only music options past 3 AM in Centeroo, so more people wanted to get in.
I think the billed B2B EDM sets might be in The Christmas Barn or Kalliope instead of on The Other.
No one on the poster will be in the Christmas barn. Maybe kalliope, but those acts could also be daytime Other.
I would agree if there weren't like 50 more names on the initial lineup release this year than usual, to me it seems like anything is possible. But I would also lean towards Kalliope over Christmas Barn.
