Carrot Top is great at what he does. If he was booked at Roo I'd see him if no conflicts. Though now it sounds like no comedy tent so who knows what's going on there. I do know that even inside the tents the comedians would complain about the noise bleed from other stages.
The comedy news makes me significantly more interested to hear an official comedy announcement. Also, I really have no clue how this will shake up on the schedule.

It's true but I've also heard interviews where they talk about appreciating that it was somewhat buffered and, maybe more importantly to them, there wasn't a constant flow of people coming and going in front of them.
I saw Brian Posehn open for Slayer on a fest main stage once and it wasn't good. I laughed, but there were a ton of boos and pissed-off middle-aged dudes that only wanted to see Slayer.
I'm not too sure this new comedian set up will fly with a mass of millennials wanting to turn up at a show as much as Roo thinks it will.
Part of the beauty of a stand up set for me is the intimate-feel, and when it's on a massive scale, it just comes off more as a person speaking to thousands of people instead.
To be fair the oldest millennials are like 42 now.
I'm '81 but always felt more gen x than millennial. I think a good test is to watch that first sketch on Portlandia about the dream of the 90s. If that resonates with you, you are gen x.

There's not a hard and fast date for when one generation spills over into the next. The year that defines that shift from Gen X to Millenials varies from 1979 to 1984 depending on whose paper you are reading. People born in that transition period can identify more heavily with one or the other or be a mix of both.
Looks like someone on Reddit has screenshots of a message from Roo saying that artists additions, Kalliope schedule, xmas barn schedule, and comedy will be arriving at the same time. Also, says they'll be some additional campground activities announced.
Can you please post a comprehensive ranking of Moses Sumney, Daniel Caesar, Duckwrth and Saro? Are they all must-sees?
I've never listened to any of them, but I'll give it a shot:
Moses Sumney Daniel Caesar Saro Duckwrth
Moses Sumney is #1 because I've seen his/their name a lot so they might be pretty good. Daniel Caesar's name I have also heard, I think he might be hip-hop, so he is #2. I've never read the names Saro or Duckwrth, but Saro is better than Duckwrth because Duckwrth did that thing where they leave a vowel out and that is dumb.

I honestly can't tell if this is sarcasm but anyway, I'd say Moses>Caesar>Duckwrth>Saro. I think Moses sumney is the only one that's really a must see but also I doubt there's anything better going on than the other ones with this weak ass lineup.

pretty sure you should have saro above duckwrth. note the missing 'o' in duckwrth.

No sarcasm.
On Saturday, Moses, Saro and Duckwrth all play, and I'm anticipating a conflict between one or two of them with Pond and/or Mavis Staples. I guess I should have mentioned that in the original question. Was curious to know how much you actually liked each of them. Your answer helped.

EDIT: Postjack handled this below.
Moses Sumney would be a must-see, but I've seen him several times already. I still definitely hope to catch his set, though. Just worried he'll get a shitty set time. Ambient sounds, incredible vocals especially when he hits his falsetto. Usually plays solo with loads of looping. My first couple of times seeing him, he opened up for Local Natives and then Sufjan. Has connections to Justin Vernon. Idk if that helps. I'd recommend the songs 'Worth It', 'Plastic', 'Lonely World', 'Don't Bother Calling' are good places to start.
Daniel Caesar is pretty high on my list. Some of the video I've seen of him playing with a full-band is underwhelming, but when it's just him and his guitar, it's fantastic. Has songs with H.E.R. & Kali Uchis. Basically a mix of RnB and acoustic singer-songwriter stuff. Great voice. I'd compare him to SZA even but with an overall much simpler feel. Best song is 'Japanese Denim' imo.
Saro I think I'd enjoy but not betting on seeing him. 'Rampart' is a really good song. Probably has the most danceable material among these artists. I heard he was fantastic at D4N, and that there's a lot of visuals involved. But, seeing how low he's booked, he'll probably get stuck with a daytime club set so that may get ruined.
DUCKWRTH I can't get into. Hip-hop/RnB fusion from what I can tell. And yeah, I'm with postjack on the name thing.

A little late to the party but I don't mind them getting rid of the comedy tent for some bigger mainstage acts. With that being said, they have to be fucking crazy to put someone as polarizing as Amy Schumer in front of thousands of people who either love her or hate her. Imagine the number of boos she's going to get from people just walking past her stage.

Amy Schumer is one of those artists I don’t particulalry like but I think a lot of the hatred of her kinda comes from a bad place so I feel guilty for not liking her because if it. Same with Cardi B.

Remember Chris Rock's set in 08? That setup won't work.
5 bucks says they wipe their hands of comedy after this year. They've been phasing it out now for a bit.
All the things that made Bonnaroo unique and magical are getting the ass. I don't think I'd ever consider this festival if it weren't for my history with it.

My goal is now to be one of those people. Thank you for the inspiration.

ok everybody lets not boo amy schumer. just don't be at her show if you don't like her.
and no "but i need to be at teh stage to wait for bon iver so i have to listen to her" or whatever. you are on vacation, calm the fuck down. put in earplugs or headphones if her voice is so offensive to you.
