Houston. (I guess 4th is a matter of where you look)
Houston definitely doesn't sell out shows it should/good people get booked to smaller venues than they should, but you'd think the Killers would be able to play Toyota Center (rockets arena) and they aren't. Eminem will almost assuredly will, Muse has done so their last two tours.
Maybe it has something to do with ACL, but Jay did both

The Rockets also play a bunch of home games when the Killers are in the area

that admittedly is something I didn't even think about. touche. go rox.
Found this guy towards the bottom of the poster, digging this song:
So you must not have known him. He heads (as guitarist and singer) his garage rock 3 piece. He has been known to skate on stage and play his fretboard using those skate trucks as a slide. Haha. Definitely not bad live and I think better than what Car Seat Headrest is doing. Sort of them meets Ramones if they aren't on glue. He closed with a decent version of Helter Skelter by the Beatles when I saw him. I'd see him again. There was a bit of nerdy sardonic moments and humorous stuff along the lines of Napoleon Dynamite.

He's definitely got a thing for an improvised slide
On inforoo fb someone was asking for more rock band recommendations. I said Shaky Knees. And got this. "If you're into a fest that ends at 10pm and is about 1/16th as weird, this is an awesome choice."

They're not really wrong. They just left out the part where Bonnaroo's an awesome choice if you're into a fest with significantly more crap than quality

A lot of this lineup is weird, but not in the way I think that poster meant

I’m way more into this than 2017, and I can see myself liking it more than 2016 after digging around. Again still worth it for me living relatively close and earning a street team ticket. Bon Iver almost makes it for me alone tbh, super interested in both of those sets. Anderson .Paak, Sylvan Esso, Virtual Self, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Rufus Du Sol, BSS, and Thundercat are all awesome for me. I’ll probably see The Killers for nostalgia, and I’m sure I’ll enjoy them. I’ve never listened to Muse much but will probably try to give them a solid chance.. I’ll probably pass on Eminem. Other things I’d see barring conflicts are Alt-J, Brockhampton, Khalid, Chromeo, STS9, Glitch Mob, Jungle, Tash Sultana, T-Pain (lol that threw me), Billie Eilish, Kali Uchis, Alex Lahey, & Pond. From the last few lines I really like Topaz Jones and Matt Holubowski. Only other thought is I’m not personally a fan of all the Americana/country but I know a lot of others will be and adds diversity on the lineup. I do wish Paramore and Dua Lipa were switched with some better names though. Most bummed about no SZA or Cut Copy.
War & Treaty filled in for a sick Buddy Miller at Americanafest and were solid.
Someone already mentioned Durand Jones, but I’ll second for soul music.
Low Cut Connie is good.
I am a huge fan of *Repeat Repeat’s old stuff. Kind of Weezer meets White Stripes in sound. Newer stuff is good but more poppy. They still do a really good rocking live show.
Texas Gentlemen do some decent pedal steel country. Bonaroo’s set times will probably keep it short enough to stay fresh.
This lineup feels like a punch to the gut. It seems just plain gross. The one or two artists I would be excited about seeing I wouldn't pay $400 to see. Just yesterday I explained how difficult it was to choose which fest to go to this year, but bonnaroo just made it very easy I'm going to save my $400 and use it to go to the fest with the lineup I love the most in my favorite city. I'm coming at you Boston My crippled ass doesn't need to be out in that gross heat anyway
I was about to post the EXACT same thing, but you stole my thunder. BOSTON CALLING HERE I COME!!!!
LCD, Tame, Bob Moses, M83, Pearl Jam, The Dead, Cymande, Dungen, Death Cab, FIDLAR, Ween, Vince Staples, Kamasi Washington, Lizzo, Charles Bradley, Band of Horses, Natalie Prass, Father John Misty, Lane 8... I actually thought 16 was significantly better than 2017.
I think Roo peaked with 13 and 14 then dropped due to headliners and a little less beef in the middle in 15, then fell from grace in 16 to just simply be on par with Lolla and ACL, then last year it moved into complete joke territory.
Seeing the line-ups stacked in the headliner thread, 2017 is still abysmal and easily the worst of the last 3 years. Even a few people from that year like Margo Price and Kevin Morby, who I didn't know about back then, can't make that thing look any better. 2018 is almost on par with 2016 for decent acts. Lol though I just noticed 2018 has Rich Brian (formerly Brian - formerly Rich Chigga).
I went to Bonnaroo 2007-2015 and the line-up evolution to today is staggering. Looking back, it's like every year was building and building until 2013 and 2014 when they just had EVERYBODY and then it withered.
Still, I agree with whoever said that the 2018 line-up is as good as we're gonna get nowadays. It's just insane that the price has increased so much. Tickets in 2011 started at $210. The 2018 line-up is worth $210 in today's money. Asking for $299 + fees, and $60 car camping + fees, is a ripoff. Going with my wife takes $800 before we even think about camping supplies, gas, food, souvenirs, alcohol, etc. Shaky Knees is $350ish and we could split a hotel with friends.
Last thought but did they HAVE to bring back one of the worst headliners that's ever played the fest. I truly hated the 2011 Eminem show. It was a joke. He played clips of songs, the hype man wouldn't shut up AND kept selling the new cd to the audience, his stage show was floating skulls and guns and shit like it was made on Windows 98. Coming off an astonishing Jay-Z 2010 performance, that Eminem show was the biggest waste of my time at Bonnaroo ever. And I skipped Mumford in 2015 to nap near the Slayer tent.
You and I are spirit animals, brother. Started going to Roo in 2007(TOOL!!!!) to 2015(Flume's 1st year...LN Set!!!)....skipped 16 and 17 cause I didn't like the line-ups, and this line-up takes the cake on being the worst.
The Eminem show was absolutely the worst show in my 9 years there(besides the Police in 2007). Skulls and floating AK-47s going off in the background stuck out like a sore thumb at Roo!!!!!

We thinking 3-4 adds this year? With the cafe/club artists being lumped into the main lineup reveal I'd imagine they'll do additions when they do late night announcements.
Last year we had Shpongle, Belly, and Warpaint...how many were there in 2016 and 2015?
