Don't mind this glad they are honoring him... but my question.... Why not add prince, david bowie, countless others that recently passed?
petty has a history with Bonnaroo.
Yeah someone answered me. That makes sense though. Plus i would like to pretend they do a cover of one or both of them as well considering the amount of names on this poster. Still real excited if they don't
Kinda off topic, but what are y’all thinking this year is gonna look like attendance wise? Maybe it’s cos I’m paying more attention to other discussion communities this year (FB/Reddit), but it seems like Roo is gaining more traction and hype than the last couple of years.
That, along with the fact that this genuinely seems like it could be the best Roo since 2015, makes me think that attendance will see a decent jump this year.
I'm guessing 10k more than last year. The lineup is really good and well rounded this year imo and it looks even better with these schedule leaks. This is by far some of the best schedule managment I've seen. They've also made a big effort to add a lot of activities to the camp grounds which may attract more people plus Kalliope is coming back so Roo has it's super late night factor back which not many other festivals can compete with. Additionally, Bassnectar has one of the biggests draws in the country of any artist (like it or not) so he's going to attract a lot of people alone.
Odd how the dudes from MMJ and Young the Giant will be in the SJ even though both are not even on the lineup. They couldve easily played. It be like that sometimes tho i guess.

Finally taking the time to go through the mock I put together lol ...
Thursday: Ron Gallo -> (wander) -> Jalen N'Gonda -> Justin Jay's Fantastic Voyage -> Clozee -> Spencer Ludwig -> Topaz Jones -> PPPP -> Opiou -> Tonalism
Though I initially thought the Thursday lineup was underwhelming, there's a lot for me there. Ron Gallo, Topaz Jones, & PPPP will be a blast. I'm also excited to check out Tonalism.
Friday: Bayonne (if I get myself to centeroo) -> Japanese Breakfast -> Tyler Childers -> Denzel Curry OR Manchester Orchestra (advice welcome, leaning Denzel) -> Tash Sultana -> Sturgill Simpson -> RUFUS -> Muse -> Superjam -> (hopefully a good chunk of) Virtual Self
The Denzel vs Manchester Orchestra conflict is kind of a bummer, but I'm confident I'll enjoy myself regardless of what I choose. On top of that, I've been heavily anticipating Tyler Childers, Tash, Sturgill, and RUFUS, so that's a lot of good stuff for the day. Superjam looks great, though I'm kinda bummed that I likely won't catch much of Virtual Self.
Saturday: Lewis Capaldi -> Pond -> (wander) -> CHIC (pit??) -> Sylvan Esso (if I'm willing to make the trek back and forth) -> Anderson .Paak -> Bon Iver -> Bon Iver (pit??) -> BROCKHAMPTON
Day time will be a chill time with good music. Evening and night will be absolutely wild. So many highly anticipated sets. So pumped.
Sunday: Bruno Major (if I get to centeroo) -> Alex Lahey (pit) -> Broken Social Scene (pit) OR Amadou & Miriam (again, input welcome) -> (wander) -> Daniel Caesar -> Opry OR Thundercat (depends on opry lineup) -> The Killers
A good final day. Daniel Caesar is actually pretty high on my list, so I'm really looking forward to that. And I'm sure BSS/Amadou & Miriam will be fantastic either way. Hoping for a stellar Opry lineup before enjoying the nostalgia of The Killers.
Obviously, this is all assuming that the schedule is mostly correct. If that's the case, though, this will be a hell of a Bonnaroo.

With MMJ the guys are all kind of doing their own stuff this year. Jim and Carl seem to be more on the solo grind and Bo’s still playing w/ Roger Waters as far as I know

Anyone notice that Jake from Jeff the Brotherhood is DJing the Grind on Wednesday night and Roo writes in the description "he usually doesnt go anywhere without his drummer, brother and best friend Jamin, so why not bring him in the mix?"
Genuinely curious, for those choosing to see Tash Sultana (or someone else) over Paramore, have you given After Laughter a listen? Because personally I wasn't even a fan until that album, but it ended up being one of my favorites of last year. I ended up seeing them in Atlanta and it was a fantastic show, Hayley is definitely one of the best performers I've ever seen. Tash should be a great show too, though. Bummed I'm going to miss it.

Fair or not they’ll never be able to escape my old mental attitude on them being wanna be edgy music for lame teenage girls.
Edit: I’ll be at tash but I’d shamelessly sing along to misery business if I were at Paramore
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

That's what I was wondering if it was like for most people on here. Their sets now only have a few of those old heavier songs (which keep in mind they were 14-18 years old during those first two albums, as well as having a different lead songwriter). It's just a bit of shame that they've grown and made a legitimately really good album but I feel like most probably didn't acknowledge it much.

After Laughter was one of my favorite albums last year, and I've only heard good things about their live shows for the last few years. Definitely one of my most anticipated sets.

Tbh I think they leaked the lineup on purpose to see the initial reactions and change things accordingly. It's kind of hard to believe that they continuously have these troubles with the app.
My thing is more me really wanting to see Tash than it is not wanting to see Paramore. If they were unopposed, I'd likely check out Paramore's set if for no reason other than nostalgia. I also enjoy a good amount of the new material. I'll note that it's still entirely possible that I'll opt to dip out of Tash's set early if I'm not vibing to catch the tail end of Paramore/get in the Sturgill pit line.
Speaking of, do ya'll think the pit line for Sturgill will be a problem? For whatever reason, I'm highly doubting it, but he *is* a pre-headliner.
As for the schedule leak, WeAreBonnaroo said it was an honest glitch + there's lots of details that we haven't caught on to yet (I'm guessing the comedy sets, set location, maybe details about the Bon Iver/Opry sets and such). But it's hard to imagine that they'd want to tamper with it much after seeing the reception of it. People have reacted pretty positively on all platforms aside from a couple conflicts here and there. I know that I personally am stunned with how well it seems to be laid out, and have seen a surprisingly large number of people change their tune about wanting to go since the leak.

For sure, it's easily their best schedule in the last couple years. After some of the head scratching scheduling choices the past few years, this is refreshing. It made a semi-light lineup look fully fleshed out over 4 days.
I've heard the new Paramore is not that bad, and will give it a listen. Every time a song of theirs comes on on Spotify, for some reason my ear ALWAYS hear the lead singer yelling "BONNAROOOOOOOO" for cheers during guitar rifts.
Prop bet Over/Under = 7.5 "Bonnaroo!!!!" yells to pump up the crowd during their set

I know the speculation/rumor is that it’ll be a standard BI set and a “special” set, but if he does indeed have an hour slot followed by an hour fifteen, that would be perfect for playing all of For Emmma plus Blood Bank as the first set and all of Bon Iver, Bon Iver plus 22AM as the second set.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
This is what WeAreBonnaroo responded to me on reddit with "we'll just have to see... i'm working with the booking team to make it so bassnectar, brockhampton and BOTH of bon ivers sets all conflict with one another - just to spite you guys for digging into the app data. im not bitter, YOURE BITTER."

In all seriousness, it'd be extremely fucked if they ended up completely altering the schedule. I'd also feel bad for putting that mock together lol.
