I used to feel like if there were two good shows on Thursday, that was a success. That's probably an artifact of me getting there pretty late in 2014 and pretty much just catching Poliça and Push.
But there really isn't a single show I'm looking forward to on Thursday. Closest thing would be Space Jesus, which lol. That is fueled by ignorance, surely. I know plenty here are excited for Ron Gallo, for example.

As mentioned before, they should have given Pond, Everything Everything, and Moses Sumney thursday sets. Ev Ev would have been a packed thursday show, but now there will be 19 people in attendance on Friday.
Ron Gallo is pretty good. The right way to define it is that it was neck and neck with Cymbals Eat Guitars as the 16th best show I saw at Shaky Knees last year.
When you wake up Thursday morning at Roo, there will be nothing you will be truly excited about no matter how hard you try. My strategy is to try to picture which acts will be the best at putting on a live show even though I will never listen to a song created by any Thursday artist after Roo. Thinking of the Durand Joneses and Spaffords of the world.

I’m actually pretty legitimately excited for Topaz Jones and Clozee. Also for Tonalism. Ron Gallo should be good too lol.

2019 Shows: 4/30 - Vampire Weekend 6/28 - Father John Misty & Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit 9/6 - Cardi B w/ Teyana Taylor 9/28 - Vulfpeck w/ The Fearless Flyers
I had never heard of Elohim, but I watched her Coachella stream yesterday and it looked like it'd be a blast live, even if not the best music. She plays late night Thursday. Although Coachella's insane visuals definitely help.

PPPP will put on such a great show on Thursday IMO. Their live set will have as much energy as Turkuaz did last year on Thursday.
Justin Jay should be pretty sweet and don't sleep on CYN. Yes she's pop but her set will surprise people.
Finally, if southern rock is your thing, Blank Range should definitely be seen on Thursday. There are good sets to be found on Thursday. Also, with so much other "plaza" stuff going on, Thursday night sets might not be as crowded.

God I know it might be crazy to hope for this but I want the exact setlist Chic player at Coachella. That setlist looks like so much fun, I love every song he covered.

Yeah the set looked great. Had me dancing to myself the whole time while watching the stream. Had been considering just chilling in the back during the set so I could drift over to Sylvan Esso at the end, but I think I’m gonna go for pit.

that’s still my conflict too. I was thinking about staying towards the side and dancing my way over to sylvan esso. But now I want to be close too. Legit best party setlist ever.
Watching the Coachella stream is getting me really excited for Roo. It’s our only festival this year save maybe Pilgrimages! Looking forward to Chic and so many others!!
This is my 1000th post! Thanks for listening to my thoughts everyone!
the coachella webcast definitely would have made me more hypothetically excited for Bonnaroo. it's unfortunate that I don't like any of the 3 headliners and that that Thursday is still atrocious.

I'm more concerned about having to leave Anderson .Paak early to get a good spot for Bon Iver.
I never would have thought it... but it's becoming more and more likely that I miss Bon Iver's first set. If Anderson is killing it, I won't leave early.... and I'm not going to watch Bon Iver from the beer tent and then leave early again to get a bad spot for Eminem.
Proposed revision: Move Rebelution to the Which, Reggie Watts to the Rebelution slot, and then give Bon Iver a 2 hour late night

My willingness to leave early will probably depend on how good of a spot I have, but I actually think that it’s highly possible .Paak ends maybe 5-10 minutes before 10, and gives enough time to pull up to the Which right as Bon Iver is starting. Hell, for all we know, it will only be listed as an hour long set, with Adam Devine doing a 15-min comedy set right before Em lol.

If they were to make this revision, they’d probably just move Sylvan Esso down and put Rebelution in their current spot tbh. But, I def don’t think they’d ever alter the game plan for Bon Iver significantly after pushing the whole “2 sets” thing the way they have.

Seeing PPPP next weekend and couldn't be more stoked. Really looking forward to seeing them at a smaller venue then getting to see them again at roo
If Eminem brings the same production from Coachella to Bonnaroo it'll be the first time two headliners have similar setups lol. The Killers have a large water tower in their set that they usually put the name of the city they're playing in on it...Eminem also seems to have a water tower be his central prop for his staging ha.
