Also, I wasn’t quite expecting this sort of emphasis on “here’s fun shit to do in the campground even though it’s the middle of the day and all the stages are running.” Are people supposed to go in and out? Hang around camp until 5 to see comedy chaos?

2019 Shows: 4/30 - Vampire Weekend 6/28 - Father John Misty & Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit 9/6 - Cardi B w/ Teyana Taylor 9/28 - Vulfpeck w/ The Fearless Flyers
Remember when you'd get a 2 hour superjam and then another hour-long set on the same stage?
to be fair that was when headliners ended closer to 10
I think Saturday looks awesome, but what were they thinking putting unopposed Bassnectar on The Which on Friday? The crowd for that will be nuts and you have 90 minutes scheduled with nothing but EDM
STS9 has the longest billed set time all weekend at an hour & a half lol.
I’d care more about the short headliner set times if I cared more about the headliners in general lol. Also, they’re bound to all go a little bit over.
Overall, this is pretty much equivalent to the leak. So I’m happy. Glad I can officially prepare myself for an epic Saturday.

PPPP have 90 minutes too
I do appreciate that they’re giving longer set times to the jam this year. Last year Umphrey’s was originally scheduled for just 60 minutes

Also, is anyone else still torn about how to handle the Bon Iver sets being sandwiched between Paak and Em? I feel like if I wanna see all three that throws away my chances of camping for a good spot/getting in the pit.
Also, I’m happy I’m gonna get to see most of Virtual Self with the SJ ending pretty early + VS going till 3:15. Obviously long superjams can be really cool, but I’ll be happy if it’s like last year’s where, it was short, but every performance was fantastic.

I don't believe Muse or Eminem will keep their sets that short.
Didn't Paul McCartney go way over his time in 2013 and Jack White in 2014?
Unless they increase Muse's set time like they did U2 last year, I don't think Muse will play over their allotted time. That's how long they've gotten at some other fests, such as Firefly. I'm hoping they get a lot of flak for it and increase the time, though. There's a 15 minute gap between them and Bassnectar (who it seems they are pretty much treating as a second headliner). There were no gaps between headliners and late night artists last year.

To me it just signals that Bonnaroo feels the same way. They booked three filler headliners and gave them the appropriate set times, because none of them are going to do anything but a standard festival set.

I actually really like a lot of the stuff that they've added. When I don't want to head into Centeroo yet but don't feel like just hanging at camp, it looks like there'll be something interesting to do. Tonalism looks neat, and I'd be into a lot of the mystical and wellness stuff. I think some of this may point to Bonnaroo trying to put more of an emphasis on the art/experiences part of the festival. The quality of the music has declined (as has been stated ad nauseam), but I think that between them adding screens to the stages, permanent bathrooms, and now these new activities, they're trying to improve the overall experience of the festival.
Why the fuck is there only 15 minutes in between Westside Gunn and Japanese Breakfast?
Tyler Childers is still going to conflict with his own even in the plazas?
Muse should be getting 90 minutes. I know this is a nitpick but there’s nothing happening in between Muse and Bassnectar. Just give them the extra 15 minutes.
Superjams should be two hours long
I feel like Chromeo should be playing during Bassnectar to give us more options during that time frame.
Saturday:
Why can’t they move Knox Fortune back to start at 2:00pm?
Why is Old Crow Medicine Show getting the Which Stage over Sylvan Esso?
Eminem getting 70 minutes…that’s pretty pathetic. Anderson .Paak is getting more set time
Sunday is fine
Overall conflicts aren’t that bad and I’m sure I’ll have a great time. But there are some weird decisions on there and the schedule is not aesthetically pleasing to look at.

Regarding Westside Gunn/JB - the former probably has a really simple stage setup (DJ). So not much to adjust for if you just have JB’s stuff right behind the stage pretty much set up already.
Edit: and with chromeo, I think having Nectar being relatively unopposed is a response to the claims that soundbleed would be a problem for people at other sets (which was a main argument for him playing the What). It makes sense.

Those extra 15 minutes (at least) that Muse should have is what they would use to actually throw in 2 or 3 really good older tracks. With only 1h15m it will be the worst possible set they could play (i.e. Firefly). Their old stuff is what actually brings the energy and is memorable. I never even considered they'd get less than 1h30m at Roo. Everything was going so well, too.
