Oh god.. not this again. Piss off, he's not supporting Trump. How many times do Kim or Ye have to say that he likes the way Trump made it to president and achieved all these things but that there are a big amount of things he doesn't agree with what he does or stand for. It's not because you like some traits from a person that you like that person as a whole. I feel like in this day and age, you can't even disagree anymore with someone without putting them in a certain box (left and right) if some things don't match with yours.
The dude just wants to make America great again with love and respect instead of hate and all these other things the democrats or republicans are/were trying during the election or still even now. With putting that simple hat up, you're implying that you support and are creating a talking point for "the alt-right". Are you joking? So instead of seeing the bigger picture of what it says on the hat and trying to do/change something, you're seeing it as some category trait for someone who is clearly from the right.. and means you gotta shut em down even, because goddamn, they're from the right, they're evillll ! Who cares what they're ideas are..
Anyways, I can't see Kids See Ghosts at Coachella because I think Ye won't accept anything less than a headline spot for him or his side project with Cudi. Though, in the past we've seen Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre headline.. so, what do I know, right?
You clearly have no idea what’s going on in America if you think that it’s not a big deal for someone with Kanye’s proflie to wear a #MAGA hat or praise Donald Trump.
This. I’m all for love and what not but Trump is dangerous and making it seem normal is not okay

Much like how a majority of people don’t actually give a shit about what XXX did, most people don’t actually care about what Kanye said, ESPECIALLY after these two albums. People got all up in arms about his tweets then after ye and Kids See Ghost came out, boom he’s back to being a god again. Some are still clutching hard onto their criticism but they’re really in the minority and don’t know it. Publications, streaming sites, charts and other industry outlets are still heavy into Kanye so to think festivals won’t do the same is just dumb and close-minded.
You guys are completely blowing this out of proportion, implying this goes much further outside internet rants and think pieces.

ye hasn’t even received that positive of a reaction compared to his past albums. I think the backlash goes beyond just some people on the internet. I have many friends who were huge Kanye fans and all but two of them have lost interest in his new material- seeing him live since we went #MAGA.

i think Daytona is good, ye sucked, KSG is very good.
having said that, regarding kanye i've always operated under the assumption that he has something interesting to say, even if it is clear that those interesting things he has to say are said off the cuff and without much forethought. The result is that many of the things says and does upsets people. In the past I have forgiven this tendency to open his mouth about whatever he is thinking at the moment because he is an artist, and only rarely has he strayed into territory that I feel is harmful.
This type of behavior is less acceptable in a non-artist. I don't want my doctor, accountant, lawyer, or elected officials just saying things that pop into their head without much forethought, because the things they say can have repercussions beyond just "musical artist makes facebook mad because he insisted a guy in a wheelchair at his concert standup".
So when Kanye decides to align himself with Trump, it significantly dampens my enthusiasm for any future art he is producing. Even giving Kanye the benefit of the doubt that he is just doing so in an attempt to promote unity and freedom of thought, it's still him blindly wandering into a discourse he knows nothing about, a discourse that has a real impact on people's lives, a discourse that is nuanced, complicated, and requires thought and careful speech. So if Kanye's goal is truly unity and freedom of thought, he has failed miserably at that goal.
I'll still give a listen to whatever Kanye does, because his history has shown me he has interesting artistic statements to make, but I'm uninterested in paying $100+ dollars to see one of his shows, or seeing him on a festival bill, or buying his sneakers, three things which would have been incredibly exciting to me pre-maga hat.
I'd like to not have to cancel my entire trip so please get this the fuck outta here.
Haha. This would be bad, but I’d be into it. I’m finally ready for TBK to return. Coming up with a mock that doesn’t include The Stones, Rihanna or JT was kinda tough. Can’t see Robyn actually headlining.

Ya I'd like to see Robyn there as a sub or something and Chance does make sense but he was just so underwhelming at Roo last year. As for TBK I'd prefer to never have them headline a festival I'm at again. They bore me to death.

Has Robyn had any hits stateside in the past few years?
"Dancing On My Own" and "Call Your Girlfriend" are probably my favorite pop songs of the past decade or so, but that was 2010. didn't think it was that long ago.

I don't think she has had any hits in the US since the 90s.

Her stuff with Royksopp was great, but not hits per se. She doesn’t play a lot but has a strong following and sold out some smaller amphitheaters on her last tour. I think a sub billing on a new album would be right.
She doesn't have a large enough mainstream appeal or recent run of hits to get booked in a sub spot unless some new album completely blows up like crazy. She'd probably be 4th or 5th billed on her day in probably a late outdoor slot.

JT is playing
Just like Chainsmokers did this year, I know. And Depeche Mode.
Nicki Minaj with an LA date in November, EU tour ending in March. Live Nation tour - this rule her out? She'd be an excellent sub
I think the Livenation bit keeps her off the lineup more than the November date would. I feel like we won’t get her until she’s a headliner, which she’s very close to being imo. Not even a fan of her.

Drake now playing six (6!) shows in LA in October (up from 2?) so that should effectively knock him out. They're all out of the radius clause, but would be pretty crazy to book him with that many people seeing him two months before.
