new Toro y Moi x Nosaj Thing set was renamed as Laff Trax, maybe a hint at a collaborative record between the two
They've worked on some tracks together in the past, but my guess would just be Les Sins + Nosaj Thing? Maybe that could result in some dancier Nosaj tracks which could be cool.
we are planning on spending a night in Boston and going to Fenway for the Phillies/Redsox that Tuesday before and trying to decide if we should stop somewhere for another night or just go right to Montreal on Weds. Open to any and all suggestions.
Youll want to spend as much time in Montreal as possible.
I was looking at tickets there and the shape of seating looks shitty for cheap seats. Plus, I absolutely despise sitting during most concerts.
Yeah the incline of seats is really crappy (unlike at say, Xfinity Center). I doubt that people would stay seated during this show, but the acoustics are pretty bad, and the joint tends to attract non-music people who just care about being someplace trendy on a summer night.

More than convinced to skip, thanks. Plus staying in Montreal sounds much more fun.
During an arena show for the recent Arcade Fire tour, 90% of the crowd was up and dancing. Unfortunately, the people behind me and besides me were clearly pissed that I was standing and moving while they were sitting. Mind boggling. Maybe they hated they hated the album and were protesting.

Totally agree. It's by far my least favorite venue in the city. its a shame that Byrne isn't playing Osheaga

appreciate all the feedack, looks like we are gonna skip it as we can both see Byrne more conveniently and for cheaper at local fests. I emailed Osheaga about adding a night to the hotel if we book through them but they do not offer that

Go the airbnb route. So many awesome places for cheap in Montreal. Last time I was there I went with 4 other people and we had an awesome 2 bedroom apartment with a deck for $800 for Wed-Sun.
i have a bunch saved to look into once we decide tomorrow. any preferred areas to look in?
Downtown area is def where you want to be. Also make sure where ever you stay is close or only a few subway stops from the Berri Uqam station. Thats the line that takes you to Parc.
nice. plenty of time to prepare a handful of the acts i wanna see here and LiB are coming through Philly before hand so the more i can plan the better.

The schedule has leaked every year I've gone. Just check the app every now and then
edit: Christ, it was even leaked with the lineup the morning of the lineup drop day. Some people noted some of the stages (and I think times) in earlier pages. Reddit may have posted some too
Friday and Sunday look to be solid days the whole way down, but Saturday seems to be a ghost town aside from a few great names up near the top.
Should I just spend the start of that day exploring Montreal or are there some undercard gems I've missed on Saturday?
AM, Tyler, Paak, Rezz, Future Islands, Lord Horun, San Holo, Alvvays, Kali Uchis, Tokimonsta, ect are the highlights of that day for me.
Paak is gonna steal it I think.
I'll have to go listen to Tokimonsta and San Holo, not crazy about Lord Huron and those other names are my entire list for the day already (plus Blondie).
yea Sat def has the least amount of acts for me. Anderson Paak is a big one for me though, ive never seen him. Then i got Future Islands (never seen), Cronixx, Carpenter Brut. that is pretty light but im cool if i can get a late start for a day. Not interested in Tyler or Khalid. I have seen Rezz name a few times now but i have no idea who it is or the type of music. Open to more Sat recommendations too.

I'll have to give Chronixx and Carpenter Brut another shot, neither grabbed me on my first listen through the lineup.
I assume you've seen videos, but you're in for a damn treat with Future Islands! One of my favorite live bands
Carpenter Brut isnt any thing too special, but it held my attention enough and seems like it would make for a good fest set. The only chance I had to see Future Islands was at Hangout 3 years ago and I choose the more rare act in Talib Kweli which was a really tough call. Of course a few months later I won tix to see Kweli play with the Soul Rebels.

where are you staying for the fest?
Still working on those plans, any recommendations? My group is looking for a hotel over an AirBnB. Just bought tickets today for the fest so we're officially locked into going!
I liked Carpenter Brut ok, also will check out a few more tracks by Bahamas, A-Trak, TOKiMONSTA, Calpurnia, The Beaches, Son Little and Alice Merton. Definitely the weakest undercard of the 3 days, but that's just because the other two are crazy stacked

Check out Allan Rayman if you like slower, blues-ish indie rock
