Franz Ferdinand Trombone Shorty A Paak Future Islands Jungle YYYs St Vincent Ron Gallo Goldlink Leon Vynehall
HM: Florence, normally a top set we stuck around for 1/3 and got out early. 2nd time seeing her and have a 3rd opportunity at Life is Beautiful. Blues in Arctic Monkeys, I'm really a casual fan but I enjoyed most of the set. Killa Jewel, she was exactly what i needed mid Saturday to re amp.
I think Chromeo was the biggest let down. Set list was ok, the crowd sucked (lots of talking and standing around) and the sound was low.
Edit: Sylvan Esso was possibly my favorite act of Friday as well.
Misses: Sir Sly, Kali Uchis, National. I have future tickets to see em so I'm good.

Awesome fest. The logistics are squeaky in a few places, but what festival truly is? Chances are they aren't going to fix the exit problems, since they'll be moving back to their primary location next year.

It's absurd that I have bands as good as Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the National outside the top-ten, that's how great this weekend was. So citations are needed: Chromeo and Julien Baker had some bad techincal issues that marred their sets, for example.
Great fest, I'd love to head back up north over the border for another adventure.

Flight's been delayed twice out of Montreal which sucks, but on the bright side this gives me some time to type out my reactions to the fest. Also I was too chicken to say anything but Noname just walked by us at the airport!!
Location was a bit awkward, but I gather the choke points in getting between areas of the fest and (especially) back to the Metro are mostly a consequence of the alternate location. Food options were fairly weak (I don't care for poutine), but I found a pretty good bagel spot near the back passageway between Mountain and Green stages that I ate at exclusively the last two days. Crowds were definitely closer to a Lolla vibe than a Pitchfork one (booking Travis and Post will do that for you), but aside from Anderson .Paak I had no issue with rowdy crowds in my space. Some fairly annoying campers at the River stage Friday as well.
I can expound if necessary, but here's how I'd rank the sets by day.
FRIDAY: James Blake St. Vincent Yeah Yeah Yeahs Julien Baker Leon Vynehall Jenny Lewis Rex Orange County Cigarettes After Sex
SATURDAY (left before AM due to family emergency): Anderson .Paak Future Islands Alvvays Kali Uchis Blondie
SUNDAY: The National Tash Sultana Jungle Modeselektor (would probably be higher if we'd stayed more than 10 minutes) Florence and the Machine Franz Ferdinand Alex Lahey Blood Orange Trombone Shorty Noname
Top 10: 10. Future Islands 9. Modeselektor 8. Julien Baker 7. Jungle 6. Tash Sultana 5. Yeah Yeah Yeahs 4. St. Vincent 3. James Blake 2. Anderson .Paak 1. The National
I do wish the Saturday undercard was as stacked as Friday and Sunday, but overall a very positive experience! Reminds me of a less shitty Lollapalooza, honestly. Lineup/finances permitting, I'd absolutely do it again.

This was our 6th year and one of the most fun I can remember. My only regret is missing Anderson .Paak and AM in favor of hanging out with friends at the electronic stage, but I've seen AM 3 times, and I'm sure I'll get another shot at Paak.
Here's my overall thoughts.
Venue:
The temp venue still sucks, but they made some improvements. Specifically, getting rid of the fence at the electronic stage so anyone could get onto the dance floor seemed to work nicely. I think they expanded the area south of the electronic stage with hammocks and stuff too, but I could be wrong.
Also, for anyone who bought VIP (not us), they definitely made the platforms by the main stages a lot bigger this year.
Water stations were a joke, but thankfully bottled water was easy to find for a measly $2.50CDN.
Food:
If you skipped or didn't know about the trucks on the western side of the island, you missed the best offerings. I'd live on Mandy's Salad and the lobster rolls from two trucks over if I could afford it. The bagels on the east side of the island were a great quick option, though.
Music: My top three from each day is below, in order of appearance. Like I said though- we missed AM and Paak to hang out with friends
Fri 1. Sylvan Esso 2. Odesza 3. James Blake Sat 1. Chronixx 2. Alvvays 3. San Holo Sun 1. Trombone Shorty 2. Jungle 3. Brockhampton
HM: Post Malone, who wasn't even close to as terrible as so many people seem to think lol.
I'm a bit surprised Modeselektor was so high for some of you, too. Granted, I only gave them about 25 minutes before bailing, but I thought they were pretty boring... Maybe it's cuz they only did a "DJ Set" instead of their normal one? Whatever the case, they were easily my biggest disappointment of the weekend.
Overall, I feel lucky to be so close to this fest, and we're already looking forward to next year if family planning doesn't get in the way.
Whoever it was that suggested the smoked meat sambo from Schwartz’s I want to give a huge shutout too. That was incredible, so much so I bought one to take home before I left! Had 3 different kinds of poutine too which was also amazing. I appreciated water being cheap and during Jungle they have out tons of free bottles which was cool.

You're welcome Going back for a visit in September and that's usually the first stop!

All of your reports have convinced me to just blindly grab a presale for next year when they go up. I miss this fest, and I am stoked for the original/newly upgraded venue to come back.

That stuff. If I didnt have a flight I would have brought some home.

Very strong chance I do the same. Alghough I struggled a bit Sunday, it was one of the most fun from start to finish programming.
This was our 7th Osh. It was a good one, but they all have been, frankly. Some of the best Festival sets I've seen have been here. I know everyone says the festival they're at is their favorite to perform at, but I hear that so often at Osh... It was definitely more crowded this year, but that didn't surprise me, as it sold out, which it didn't last year. The leaving always sucks, from either venue. Stay 1/2 hr after the last set, then it's fine. The food is way more than poutine (though there is certainly a lot of it!. I had a crab cake that was amazing, the asian food is always a favorite, there were Tacos... the first thing we do when we get there on Friday is scope out the food trucks, because they are spread out. Friday's sets - Leon, Rainbow kitten, Manchester, Portugal, Yeah's, Sylvan Esso, in that order. Sylvan's set was my favorite of the fest. We only caught a few songs from Sir Sly, who I love, but we're seeing them this Fall again at a small venue. Saturday was the weakest, but Alice Merton, Lights,Lord Huron, Blondie (hey, she's 73. seriously), Artic, Billie Eilish (despite the annoying 16yr girls...)were the best of the day. Sunday was pretty stacked for us, even without Two Feet (such a bummer on many levels), Tash, Dua Lipa, Dermot Kennedy, Lewis Capaldi, James Bay, The neighborhood, Franz, Flo, The National (my first tinme seeing them, they far exceeded my expectations). Can't wait for next year.
Some fun facts after looking at my steps for the trip: Thursday I covered over 22k steps totaling 9.6 miles, Friday i had 29.5k steps totaling 12.2 miles, Saturday 25.4k steps totaling 11 miles and Sunday 24.2k steps with 11.5 miles. Talk about getting some exercise in!
I know I'm a decade late to the party, but I really feel Inforoo missed their opportunity for some Kanye cash after the '08 debacle. What's the statute of limitations of these things? Looking at you too, Bootsy Collins.

Haven't been very active on this forum this Summer but I thought I'd give my quick thoughts:
1. The National - TOO SHORT but amazing. First time seeing them since I saw them at MIA preheadlining for Kanye. Much better crowd this time. Plus Matt walked into the crowd right next to me.
2. Travis Scott - I have seen James Blake before but was still really disappointed I couldn't see both these artists. I'm only 22 so Travis is right up my alley and I still feel young enough to deal with the trash crowd. This was my first time seeing him (and I've been a fan since Days Before Rodeo) so I was very excited. Waited 2.5 hours to get near the front and although the show was only 40 minutes, I had a blast.
3. Future Islands - Sam gave his all and (Im pretty sure) cried on stage. Excellent performer although their songs are samey.
4. Alex Cameron
5. Brockhampton
HM: Blood Orange, Anderson Paak, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, St. Vincent, Noname
