In the real world, yes. At Inforoo U2 is a "meh" booking.
I don't think that's really fair, Planetarium was a side project from Sufjan and was never planned to go on big tours (they performed Planetarium like, what 3 times last year?) This, whilst Bryce was still touring with The National. I can understand it blocks out Sufjan because it's mainly his project but not Bryce.

2) Once an artist or member of an act is drafted, they are unavailable to anyone else in any capacity. For example, if Gorrilaz is drafted, Blur is unavailable because Damon Albarn has been drafted.
Bryce Dessner is part of the Planetarium group(?), so he can't be drafted later as part of The National as well. I can see the frustration with the pick, but it seems pretty cut and dry per the rule. My question is if he has to pick The National and Sufjan solo later or if he just gets them automatically.

They take up lineup spots so they do have to be selected.
