Yeah, I don't know why I didn't at least get a Bowery Presents email, I am on their list, as well as The Killers (although I have always been on it, I was never a paid member). Looks like it's well sold out this morning though.
Most probably won't follow the masking suggestions but I'm OK with that with these other precautions. Make sure you test on Wednesday and not Tuesday, unless you do it after 7:30pm they are saying Tuesday will be too early for the 48 hour cut off. Just made a rapid test appt. Wednesday AM at CVS in Manhattan but I might end up doing it closer to home.
I'm going to Carecube for a PCR test which usually turns it around in a day though it does make me slightly worried if there is any issue. Is there a faster/acceptable test that I should also consider?
It says antigen (rapid) tests are acceptable so unless you want to be really thorough, that might be the way to go. I just made an appt. at one of the City's Express Test Centers that is right across the street from where I live for Wednesday so am going to cancel CVS. It's PCR but they guarantee less than 24 hour turnaround (I find even non-express City sites turn results around in 24 hours), and probably same day results.

Yeah as much FOMO I'm gonna be feeling that day, I'm glad I'm skipping the Central Park show. I went to Global Citizen 4 times, and it's really a nightmare. You have to get there like 5 hours early to get even a semi decent spot, the line to get in takes almost 2 hours, the lines for the bathrooms are insane (think I waited 40 minutes to take a piss once, DURING Coldplay's set), and they dont sell any booze there. I can't remember what the food options were but I remember for someone like me with celiac disease it was slim pickings.
Free is nice, but I'd rather pay $400 for a comfortable arena/stadium show then to go through that madness again.
Yeah I'm giving up my tix for Saturday now that I am going to the Killers at T5 on Thursday. Only other act I really feel FOMO on is Bruce but he'll probably show at Sea Hear Now in September, so I'm good, lol. These things are nice days in the Park but if it is anything like Global Citizen GA then yeah, a long slog to get in. Plus it will be broadcast on CNN so I'll see it from my sofa. . That said, I am going to Global Citizen this year, but only because I got Premium VIP at its cheapest.

Thanks for the info. Does CityMD do the rapid antigen tests? If so, I assume those are a quick turn around?

I know some do, but I'm not sure if they all do. Also they may not be a quick turnaround, I hear they can be slow. Probably best to look into CityMD-type places near where you live, there's also a bunch of test vans that have popped up too that do rapid, LabQ is legit and I've seen good mentions about them so maybe look to see if they have a location near you and go early tomorrow.

Thanks, LabQ seems to be for ordering tests though which might be tough to do in a 2 day turnaround. Outside of CityMD I am completely in the dark about where to go since I've been vaccinated already and CubeCare apparently charges $150-200 per test which doesn't seem worth it. I'll try CityMD tomorrow but if you have any other ideas, really appreciate the help.

No, they have locations/vans all over - check out locations here: labq.com/covid-mobile-testing/ If you're in Brooklyn, they are outside Barclays M-F among a bunch of other spots.

That's weird, I actually JUST went to a CareCube this AM to inquire, have them run my insurance and they told me there was no charge for either Rapid or PCR if I was exposed/came into contact with someone positive (which I don't need to show proof of). I asked her like 2-3 times and she said there would be no charge but this article is now making me re-think.
Killers were great last night at T5. As I expected, a ton of fucking idiots showed up not realizing you needed a negative test and (from what I was told) had to get one at the test van parked across the street which added to the line and delayed the show so for all of us who got there early, we had to stand around another 45 min. On another note, though Terminal 5 is still probably the worst mid-size venue in the city, they've renovated the bar at the back of the floor so there are two on the side which opens up a ton of standing space on a slightly raised tier.

The Killers were fantastic last night! So good to see Dave back with them too. As a vertically challenged person, I always do the bar rail.

Man, only two songs from Imploding the Mirage, and not even the best of them ("My God," IMO). I know they have a pretty robust catalogue from which to choose, but I'm bummed we were robbed of a tour behind that record, which I really dug.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?
UPCOMING SHOWS 5/14 - Neil Young & Crazy Horse @ Forest Hills 6/8 and maybe 6/9 - Governors Ball 8/17 - King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard @ Forest Hills 9/4 - Pearl Jam @ MSG 9/7 - Pearl Jam @ Wells Fargo Center 9/11 - St. Vincent @ Brooklyn Paramount

They have some tough choices at this point considering their catalog, they didn't even do Somebody Told Me last night - think that was the first time they didn't do it at a show I was at, and I've been going to at least one show a tour going back to 2004!

Seems like they are trying to restart it, at least for TV. Still seeing the occasional flash of lightning here in DT Brooklyn. I am very glad now I decided not to go though.

Their two nights at MSG next year are billed as The Imploding The Mirage Tour so...maybe they'll play more then.

Always liked the Standard Biergarten in Manhattan.
Hey y'all, it's been a min. since I participated in this post (and the forum in general) Is anyone planning to attend MMJ concert for Forest Hills Stadium without a ticket? I'm selling my GA ticket for Friday 9/10 for face value price (it's a mobile ticket btw, so I can transfer it through the AXS app)

If anyone has a couple of extra bucks and wants to help out local Brooklyn indie label Greenway Records here’s a link to their GoFundMe.
The basement housing the Greenway Records office and studio experienced extreme flooding in Ridgewood on Wednesday night, 9/1, in the flash flood brought on by the remnants of Hurricane Ida.
This label is dope and everyone on it is super rad! Bands include Frankie and The Witch Fingers, Big Eyes, Levitation Room, Acid Dad, The Muckers, Dirty Fences, Max Pain and The Groovies
There must be some logjam of working visa applications, at least from Ireland, just had a second postponement/cancellation of a show this month due to visa delays, both were Irish bands. At least this one cleared my conflict of two shows in the same night!

I've been wondering about this and what rules apply. I know tourists visiting the US can still not have been in the UK for the past 14 days. Jungle, who is playing in the States in early Oct, has tour dates all the way up to the middle of Sep in the UK so I am confused as to how they can jump over the states so quickly.

Inhaler had UK dates this past weekend and was supposed to be playing next week before the visa issue emerged - I don't believe that was the case with The Frames though, and they called things off way earlier. Although for normal tourists, I think if you are vaccinated and have a negative test, you can come - a pal and her husband are currently visiting NY State from the UK and they are not quarantined. It might be different from Ireland though.

Wow, Foo Fighters at Coney Island Ampitheater on Monday.
Tickets on sale at noon.
Weird to have not been in this 2,000 + queue in a while. Wonder what resale will look like.
Wow, 18 minutes after the on sale started and I'm still able to pull GA Pit tickets. $135 after fees. I can't go to the show...part of me is tempted to buy these and just resell them for pocket money, but I've got a weird feeling about what the resale market is gonna be for this.

Thanks for posting this, I got the notification of your post about 15 mins. before onsale time and immediately joined the queue (and it was 2000+ in front for me but moved pretty fast), and scored a ticket about 10 mins. into the sale. In 302 but pretty much dead center. I think word was slow to spread because I jumped back into the queue because a pal was having problems buying and the wait was much longer, got back in at 12:35 still a handful of tix but really just a few.
