I didn't get the 3+ hour Roo set but this was a close one. Put both nights together and it was a great extra long set. Interesting that they have avoided early early tracks. Still, the jams on the newer songs from the last few albums are great.

I'm a late convert, so those two were my first real MMJ shows (besides a half hour from the very back of the What field at Roo in 2015). Last night was a game time call after Friday and man I am glad I went to both. What a great time.
All of the above, perfect weather, and Brittany’s powerhouse opening sets made this a perfect MMJ doubleheader. So many songs I’d never heard live before last night, and that sick pair of Marvin Gaye covers- which the boys made their own- was icing on the cake.
Forest Hills has become my favorite NY venue. Relaxed atmosphere, not a bad seat in the house, decent food and drink options, and a short train ride from Penn Station- which drops you at the gate. It’s easier to get to than venues in Manhattan or Brooklyn, for many people.
If anybody here is planning on driving from Brooklyn to NJ for the Ergs show Saturday Dec 4th and wants to give me a ride that would be awesome!!! Will pay for gas
So the Fugees are playing Pier 17 tomorrow night. You can win tickets through Global Citizen but apparently they will also be selling tix through Ticketmaster. Not sure when yet. Anybody with more info please let us know.

Might be all through giveaway and just be a placeholder message...generally the free tix given by GC are redeemable by code through Ticketmaster, hopefully you entered the draw. I see the message is still up, I am guessing if nothing is put up by 10 then that'll be the case.

Yeah, I got the code and redeemed my tix. They’re in my Ticketmaster account under My Tickets
Coldplay played City Winery on Mon night which would have been a nice intimate spot for them. Anyone going to their Apollo show this Thu?
I gotta get back into the loop with them, I had no idea about either! I wonder why SiriusXM didn't send me an announcement about that. Fell out of the loop because they were sucking for awhile but I have liked what they've put out in the past year or two - they are the primary reason why I am going to Global Citizen this year.

Ugh, you must have to REALLY like a band to suffer through Global Citizen. I've been twice and even being in the VIP section, it's essentially a long day of lectures broken up by a few musical performances.

If the weather's nice and the lineup has artists I like, I've enjoyed Global Citizen. There are worse ways to spend a day than sitting on a blanket in Central Park with a bunch of friends having some drinks and listening to music. If the lectures get too much, we just kind of chill and chat, instead.
Of course, the trade-off there is being pretty far back from the stage, but that's been OK on my end so far.

That's fair. I've always been a "gotta be up close" guy stemming from my youth stuffing myself to the front of Roseland/Hammerstein Ballroom and Irving Plaza. I think if Global Citizen allowed for actual proper set times (like at least an hour for each) with minimal chatter in between it'd be a lot more engaging. Last time Coldplay opened the show they did 5 songs which just felt kinda weak.

Coldplay wasn't the top headliner the last time though (Pearl Jam was), they are this time so I expect much more than five songs.

big 4 nights coming up - Conway tonight, Freddie Gibbs tomorrow (it's a late show for Gov Ball, which doesn't make sense bc Gov Ball will not have started, and working Friday is going to suck), Jason Isbell Friday, and Osees Saturday. Let's do this.

THat's impressive. Max I can do at this age is 2 nights in a row. After that, I just lose the thrill of being out.
Alt-J and Phantogram, with an opener sold out the Garden in 2015, so they're following the same formula this time.
Yeah, but it's not 2015 in terms of Alt-J or P.TM's popularity, I don't think. I dunno. I could totally be wrong! I mean, was that Alt-J show at Forest Hills in 2018 even sold out? I don't remember.

lol yeah, check back with me on sunday. definitely not trying to make a habit of it these days but given that I moved to NYC last summer and it's my first opportunity to really hit shows here, here we are.

Pray for all of us age 30+ doing the full 11-12 days at Primavera next year. 🙏
