Anyone been to Thompson's Point in Portland, ME, or just Portland, ME in general? Thinking about catching the 6/10 Bon Iver show up there and making a weekend of it
never been to Thompson’s Point but Portland is a very nice little city, definitely worth a day trip

Yeah, Portland is nice. But I would make sure you go there by car so that you can explore a whole bunch of things on the Maine coast while you are there.
Never been to Thompton's Point but I heard good things. The fact that it's all GA makes it appealing.

Echoing the two above posts and adding that Thompson's Point is a great place to watch a show. I grew up about 20 minutes from there and can't recommend Portland, especially in the summer, enough. PM me if you want some recs closer to the show (or now).

I'd love some food, drink, hiking recs if you got em
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

Just scored a presale ticket to Beck at Irving Plaza on November 9th. Good lord, I think I've been to Irving Plaza more in the past few months than I have ever previously, lol.
Also got a ticket to the Strokes NYE show at Barclays on presale yesterday.

How much was GA? I see Platinum is $250. Gonna try on Friday.

Thanks! Got my 🤞🏻 for Friday. But I’m not betting on it.
You likely know this drill, but once you get out of queue and it shows no tix, keep refreshing. I was like 490ish in queue, by the time I got in it was 12:12 and LN had already popped out the "very limited tix" message. It was telling me there were no tix but I just kept refreshing until it gave me a ticket. Good luck!

Yeah, I do the same thing. Thanks!!! This is my favorite kind of anxiety. Trying to get super exclusive concert tickets while trying not to get caught wasting company time. I’m sweating and stressed just thinking about it.
Bon Iver going with seating on the floor at Forest Hills is unexpected and a little disappointing.
I also thought that was weak along with floor seating being like $150 +. Didn't pull the trigger as I'm definitely not committing to that 8 months out.

I tried this morning and the Live Nation presale wasn’t even available
Your previous post prompted me to check out of curiousity and I noticed that. Thought it was just that it sold out.
Yeah, it was really weird. Me, my wife and my cousin all tried and all got the same results. Season Ticketholders Presale came up and nothing about Live Nation. I’m super cheesed off.
Everything at Barclays is going to be sold through SeatGeek going forward, SG inked a deal with them and also sponsor the front entrance gates.
Interesting. Does this mean that all shows now have dynamic pricing?
Not necessarily - there are links on the left side that let you screen Official Box Office and Verified Resale. The Official Box Office ones had the usual fixed face prices. Of course, all the big ticketing platforms (TM, AXS) have dynamic pricing for any given show now anyway.

Third day in a row trying for Beck tickets. And I got NOTHING to show for it.
Me neither.
Everyone be careful of Ticketmaster/Live Nation's "bait and switch" tactics- I kept trying to grab the $75 tickets, only to get the "sorry keep trying" message- then it serves up the same tickets for $427! Don't fall for it- you could go to most 3-day festivals for that price.

The "platinum seating" shit is really obnoxious. I kept getting denied buying a standard (still $220 + fees) GA Pit ticket for RHCP/The Strokes at Metlife yet suddenly there were premium seats available for $500. I don't begrudge acts for charging market rates but the bait and switch is super obnoxious.
I honestly don't think these Beck tickets will be that much higher over face second hand. Looks like they are already only $140 on SH which means people trying to sell them aren't even making a profit after the SH fees. Also, I get the sense it's an acoustic-type show so will probably lean heavily on Sea Change/Mourning Phase rather than the uptempo numbers.
Yeah, at this point I doubt they are fooling anyone that Platinum is nothing more than regular seating with jacked-up pricing, this is especially bad when a show is all General Admission! It's a gigantic racket that is going on in plain sight.

Yeah, I remember back in the day when the balcony at Irving Plaza was open GA. Now it’s “Platinum” get outta here with that nonsense. Haha!!!
