Forest Hills is really poppin' this year! Why couldn't it have been like this back when I lived a few blocks from the stadium, lol. Too bad there's no two day. Anyway, will probably go for the LCD day, at least their superspreader risk will be a bit lower since it's outdoors, lol.

Same! I lived in Forest Hills for a few years, and I think the only shows I caught were Arctic Monkeys, The National and Morrissey/Interpol. Of course as soon as I moved out their calendar has been wild.
Boygenius is 6/17. Will definitely be trying for tickets next week, but with Phoebe's new fame and opener Clairo, I'm worried that the audience here might be unbearable.

I really wish, at this point, that I hadn't bought that Beck/Phoenix ticket. I'm guessing I won't be able to resell it for face value, and I don't think I can afford that, the National, the Smile, and the LCD Soundsystem and boygenius days of Re:Set. Damn.

Her new fame? Did something happen in the last 6 months I'm not aware of?
EDIT: I think the 3rd night with Steve Lacy would have the most obnoxious guests, with kids vying for him to sing the tiktok songs.
I wish I lived close enough to go every night. It's a hell of a schlep from deep Brooklyn (but better than Jersey City!). I'm conflicted between the 1st and 2nd nights - I hear Bartees is fun too.

Basically Phoebe Bridgers has the "I'd like her to run me over with her car" fanbase and, thus, there's a lot of shouting over her/people passing out at shows now. Prospect Park Bandshell was a total shitshow when I saw her last summer.
EDIT: This is in response to her "new fame", quoted the wrong post.

That sucks! That bandshell is so small compared to Forest Hills - maybe the bigger venue will help mitigate that

Let's say you had the chance to go to all of these shows, but had to lose two of them for financial reasons...
The Walkmen @ Webster Hall Caroline Polachek @ Radio City LCD Soundsystem/Jamie xx @ Forest Hills boygenius @ Forest Hills The Smile @ Forest Hills Beck/Phoenix @ MSG

Depends on if they're coming back next year / were just here and you caught them. And how many drugs you're doing at the concerts.
You got a mix of nostalgia and new. I would say DON'T cut boygenius - who knows if / when they'll tour again. Supergroups are temporary.
IMHO cut Smile and LCD - both play NYC a lot and tbh Smile's fine but I'd rather spend $ on Radiohead. Argument to keep Beck / Phoenix is based on 2000's nostalgia.

What does everyone think about the Smile tickets selling out? Have no idea how much of a draw they are but Forrest Hills is big and I was thinking on waiting a bit for these.

Which two would you cut?
Caroline Polachek as Radio City tends to suck the life out of any show and she'll be back around again. Also, if you saw The Smile this fall that would seem like an easy sacrifice as the rest are probably fairly rare combinations.

6 months? No. But she has blown up incredibly in the last year. Certainly a much much larger name than the last time Boygenius toured in 2018. Recent collabs with Taylor Swift and SZA, as well as upcoming tour dates with Taylor, puts her on a whole other level. I missed out on her Forest Hills show last summer but I heard horror stories about the crowd not shutting the fuck up.

I'd cut Caroline and LCD. Caroline because Radio City just doesnt seem like the right venue for her (a seated large theater doesnt feel right). LCD I'd skip because they're always playing NYC.
Regarding finances, this is a totally uneducated assumption but I have a feeling tickets for The Smile will be pretty affordable on the secondary market the week of. They just did two nights at Hammerstein in November, and I don't feel like the album really gained too much traction. I don't even think Atoms for Peace were able to sell out Barclays as their only NYC tour stop, so this feels like a reach.
Similar stance on Beck/Phoenix. If you don't care too much about where your seats are, I imagine you can snag a pair of $20 tickets in the 200 level close to show day.

Heh. My problem is I got all excited and bought Beck/Phoenix tickets in presale. They're good seats - section 119, 7 rows from the floor - but I know sales have been soft for that show, so I'm not sure I'll be able to make my money back if I try to sell them.
Got into the The Smile w.a.s.t.e. presale pretty smoothly but it was the first time I got into a w.a.s.t.e presale only to abandon it because they only had GA standing for The Smile at Forest Hills. I will endure that for Radiohead but for The Smile, a seat will do me better, it's not like Jonny looks at anyone, lol. w.a.s.t.e. really should recognize some of us are getting old. Will have to do the AMEX presale tomorrow for a seat.

Looks like things were a little soft for the w.a.s.t.e. presale today, still GA standing tix (the only kind they had) for Forest Hills right now. Other cities sold out pretty quick though of their pre-sale so it might be a function of large venue combined with them having just been here in November.
