I have never once gotten into a verified fan sale, so I’m not optimistic, here. But I’m willing to break the bank a little for this one, I think.
Here's the dirty little secret: from what I know, verified fan isn't truly random. If you have an account that ALWAYS gets wait list, your account is fucked. I recommend asking friends and family to use theirs so you can have a chance.

this makes a lot of sense, the only verified fan ive ever gotten was Arctic Monkeys arena tour. my dads account tends to always get chosen so i had him do it

I used to get it all the time at the beginning. Now its 50/50. And there was also the theory that newer accounts are always selected.

There are many theories about Verified Fan. This is one of the only ones that I feel confident saying is definitely true. Certain accounts are flagged and can essentially never win Verified Fan (except in rare cases when demand is so low they give out codes to everyone who registered).

What is the rationale for those accounts never getting it? Is it suspicion of bot/fraud/scalper activity?

That's interesting. I NEVER get selected for verified fan presales. I also get hit with "we think you're a bot" messages randomly when visiting Ticketmaster. I assume that's because I use my work computer and it's IP address has a thousand other users on it?
Regardless, fuck me I better not get shut out on this! The Cure is one of the few acts still on my bucket list.
i feel like theyre more likely to select people who dont go to a lot of shows to give the average joe shmo a better chance to buy. because someone who doesnt buy tix often will be more likely to splurge on platinum tix due to not knowing any better and thinking thats a fair price

Be on the lookout for Jimmy Eat World/Manchester Orchestra and Counting Crows/Dashboard Confessional co-headlining tours announcing shortly.
Shockingly the MO/JEW tour is NOT at Pier 17 but at Summerstage on 8/23
Ah perfect! Pier 17 would've been too small. Manchester Orchestra just did Hammerstein Ballroom in 2021, and I'm pretty sure JEW has done Summerstage on their own in recent years.

Drake and 21 Savage: Mon Jul 17 – Brooklyn, NY – Barclays Center Tue Jul 18 – Brooklyn, NY – Barclays Center Tue Jul 25 – New York, NY – Madison Square Garden Wed Jul 26 – New York, NY – Madison Square Garden
That large gap between the Barclays and MSG shows makes me think they'll be adding at least 2 more nights.

Yeah true though I saw Jimmy Eat World play a 1k-cap bar on Long Island last year and they JUST sold it out day of so I have no idea what their draw is these days. Middle Kids as an opener is a nice bonus too.
Well, it's happened: I officially recognize only one name on a festival bill. Can anyone in the know clue me in as to what connects the artists in this lineup?

88 rising is is collective / label of all Asian artists, Joji is also part of them but not on the lineup. It's a mixed genre collective and most of them doing absolutely insane numbers.

Beabadoobee? That's the only name I recognized as well, lol.
11/28 Raveonettes (Copenhagen, Denmark) 12/4 Interpol 12/14 LCD Soundsystem 12/31 Billy Joel 1/25 The Killers (Las Vegas) 2/12 Jack White 2/25 Father John Misty 3/6 Inhaler 4/10 Franz Ferdinand 4/17 Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds 5/15 Amyl & the Sniffers 5/18 Fontaines D.C. 9/1 Oasis
New Jersey, over three weeks in June, but Newark is getting the biggest names, so doable - North to Shore Festival
I'd be up to go see Alanis/Aimee Mann (I am not a Cure fan, so no conflict for me ). Also Santana, and Halsey with a string ensemble doing Newark. Asbury Park has some good classic stuff too. Santana is already on sale, the rest will be on sale Friday.

This kinda boggles my mind but they haven't played the area once since 2017 when they opened for Metallica and then Jones Beach in 2014 for the Uproar Festival so I imagine the demand is there.
