Sylvan Esso just announced a show at Forest Hills with Goth Babe and Charlotte Adigery/Bolis Pupul for September 29th.
I love Sylvan Esso, but last time I saw them was at Terminal 5 in late 2021. Did opening for Odesza really level them up enough to headline Forest Hills?

Jesus Christ they’re delusional if they think they can play to anything other than a mostly empty Forest Hills. Much larger bands struggle to fill it up. They need a new agent. The venue/promoter needs new bookers. It’s going to be 30% sold and a financial bloodbath. Can’t decide what the more nonsensical show that was announced today is - Sylvan Esso at Forest Hills or Jungle at the Forum.

They did two shows at T5 the last time - that is 6000 people total? Forest Hills is twice that so it does seem a stretch but maybe they'd rather play one show even if they don't sell out, and don't want to play two shows? What is a venue suited to them that can hold over 6,000 but under 13,000?

What's odd is they don't seem to have strong support in terms of ticket draw. If it was, like, Sylvan Esso w/Muna or something, that'd make much more sense.

Kings Theatre has parted ways with Ticketmaster and is now selling tickets direct to fans on their website. They licensed the ticketing technology platform of Ambassador Theatre Group, a company that sells theater tickets in the U.K. Weird pairing, but anything that reduces Ticketmaster's dominance is a win in my book. All existing Ticketmaster tickets will be transferred over to the new system - Ticketmaster barcodes/mobile wallet tickets WILL NOT work going forward. Not a big deal if you bought tickets for yourself, but if you bought tickets for a show at the Kings Theatre on resale, it's going to be a pain in the ass trying to explain the situation to the dumb as a rock customer service agents at the resale site.

Yeah just got that email. I bought a ticket to Nick Cave there on presale this morning on their new site, thought it was unusual that the sale hadn't been through TM or AXS. It worked fine, although the first seat I picked had been taken, so had to pick another one. Might work better for them than Barclays as I don't think they are dependent on Live Nation tours going through and they are not as large, so they won't feel Live Nation's vise like Barclays did.
