The happiest NFL fans are enjoying either their Chiefs offense or their Bears defense. The rest of us are deluding ourselves into thinking our teams have any kind of future. Overrated piles of shit.
If the Jags would just get rid of Fournette, they'd have a far better chance at getting further this year (I'll always route for any Florida team.) Oddly, Fournette is like a governor on the rest of the Jags offense.

There are only 31 teams who would take him off your hands.

It's less about Fournette and more about the way our Offensive Coordinator thinks he has to play when Fournette is available.
Oh, we have Fournette in? Lets just run every first down straight up the center's ass crack! Every team just stacks the box and we become one dimensional. If Nathaniel Hackett just ran the same offense that he does when LF is out when he is in, he would be great.

It is soooo aggravating. I hate that I can only jags players in fantasy if LF is out, lol. But, I get to stack Bortles and Yeldon this week, so I'm hyped on that. I just wish they'd trade LF and a 3rd round pick for an early 1st round so that they could go big on a stud receiver for Bortles now that they got rid of Hurns AND Robinson and did not do justice at replacing them
Jags are limiting the Chiefs better than most teams. Haha I was just typing that the Jags defense is gonna have to snap their lack of turnover slump when they get their first secondary interception of the season. We gotta a game again!
This is pretty much a mess. Idk how its even a 2 score game.
I know you love this defense but the only thing that they are doing consistently is talking trash after the whistle. Mahomes isn't even stepping into half of his throws as guys are that wide open. Jags can't stop the run either. Yet they talk smack like they're up 23 lol. Not sure the Bears defense would start any of these guys.
Edit--you know I'm just kidding you a bit after our stats discussion last week. What this game may reflect is how great Mahome's play is in Reid's system. Perhaps also the Jags D is out of this world against decent or poor qbs but that they may not be ready to get to the super bowl as the playoffs usually feature many great qbs. Time will tell. They are pretty young still. Better play from Bortles would certainly help the defense not get gassed or play from behind.

Yeah Im not arguing with any criticism of any part of this team today.
I also dont want to hear the term sacksonville again.

See my edit above. Misery loves company. I'm a damn Colts and IU football fan. So your life could be a lot worse haha
Im trying not to overreact to the defense's first unquestionably terrible game in a calendar year, but this is my breakdown of the Jags defense from last year and maybe this year: We are a phenomenal front running defense that can get an avalanche going like few others in history. Crazy athletes all over the field. However, I dont know that we are a disciplined, bring your hard hat to work defense that thrives regardless of adversity. The body language looked hopeless from the beginning.
As bad as this game was, we left maybe 30 points on the field with some unbelievablly bad play calling and Blake plays.
Congrats to Drew Brees. An Austinite is the NFL's All-Time Passing Yards Leader. His career has been amazing to follow and he will always be one of my favorite players ever.
I'm thinking Saints/Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
It's wild to think how different football would be if the Dolphins had signed him in 2005, or if the Chargers had stuck with him instead of drafting Rivers. Saban probs wouldnt have left Miami the way he did, maybe Brees' injury wouldnt have healed the same, Alabama certainly wouldnt be the power they are today. Pretty sure there's a Dameshek N"if"L on it.
And sorry for this double post but this isnt worthy of being mentioned in the same one as Brees record. Jason Garrett's gotta go. Not going for it on 4th & 1 at Houston's 42 in OT with everything they've invested in the offense over the years is embarrassing. Someone said Garrett probably stops at yellow lights, and that is the best analogy to describe his coaching ive ever heard. I wonder if a Brees retirement after this season could spark Sean Payton coming back to Dallas. A Payton-coached offense and Kris Richard-coached defense (i think Marinelli calls it a career after this season) would be perfect.
nice to see the vikes beat the eagles yesterday, too bad we didn't show up when it mattered in the NFC championship game last year lol
i will say cousins is looking amazing this year, dude can throw
How the hell did you guys get spanked by the Bills?
that remains a mystery to all of us. total ass whoopin. and it probably isn't anything but it was the week of the everson griffin breakdown and it sounds like most of the team didn't know why he was out that day. we got whooped either way but the packers losing this weekend and us winning really gets our season back on track. a loss to the eagles would've made us need to go around 9-2 to finish the season which obv is tough.

There are definitely folks over here that worry about Payton leaving after Drew retires, but it most likely won't be for a few more seasons. Drew's contract extension is for this season and next, so just based on current contract he intends on playing another season.
Not to mention, at 39 he's on pace to having one of his greatest seasons in his career. After 5 games, he's thrown for 1658 yards (on pace for 5,306) for 11 TDs and 0 interceptions (leads leagues in fewest INT). He has a passer rating of 122.3 (leads the league) and is completing 77.9% of his passes (leads the league with the second best at only 72.3%). And he has two rushing TDs. Definitely an early MVP candidate.
