I was too busy being super drunk and very loud in a bar last night to keep up with game stats during the Saints game, but the Saints held the Eagles to only 250 yards of total offense.
In fact, 153 of those yards were in the first quarter, so the Saints held the Eagles to only 97 yards in the final three quarters. Maybe that first quarter was just rust from having basically three weeks off, but jesus christ I feel like my emotions were an absolute roller coaster last night. My chest hurts today.

At the very least, I appreciate that both championship games feature a duel between quarterbacks that hold a ton of NFL records versus young quarterbacks that have potential to have great careers. I do not appreciate how much that storyline is going to get mentioned during the games.

These playoffs have been a little stale in my opinion because there was a clear tier cutoff between these final 4 teams and the rest. That made wild card weekend seem unimportant and the divisional round predictable.
Hopefully that will be made up for in these final 3 games.
A complete lunar eclipse will occur during the AFC Championship. Tom Brady is going to turn into a werewolf
And it's going to be wind chill of 15 below at kickoff. But since it's the first time KC has hosted the AFC champ game, tickets are still going for insane prices. It's going to be quite the clusterfuck here in KC.

if you would like to complain so more, there are plenty of teams that will take Mahomes, Kelce, and/or Hill so that you can avoid having to deal with the traffic that comes along with hosting the AFC Championship game...

I'm not complaining. Sports related Clusterfucks can be fun.

Case in point: the 2015 Royals victory parade.
from everything I saw on snaps/fb your parade was way more fun than ours.
These are two good matchups on paper. I don't think I'd bet on either game in any capacity. I also have no idea or opinion on who is going to win either championship. I think arguments could be made for the Rams, Chiefs, Saints and Patriots to each win their respective games. So it's going to come down to execution and scheme. Losing Sheldon Rankins inside really hurts us vs. Gurley and Anderson. We held Gurley (mostly) in check when we defeated the Rams 45-35 in the regular season. They're also pissed off though neither Peters nor Coach Payton wanted anything to do with trash talking this week. Same for the Lattimore and Jordan interviews I saw from yesterday. Clearly everyone is locked down and on ice from spitting out bulletin board material on both sides. I think there's a lot of mutual respect there.
As always, I like our chances at home. We will be tough to beat though I agree the Rams are a very tough opponent. Last time we hosted an NFC Championship game, it was that very memorable Saints vs. Vikings that we won in overtime. I'd like to think we can repeat, but I wouldn't touch the game with money. A couple of pundits (including Coach Mangini) noted they thought the Saints came out flat and rusty vs. the Eagles even though we statistically dominated them 390something to 90something yards for the last 3 quarters. If we can withstand early emotion or even come out even, we'll determine our own fate in this game. If we're shellshocked or allow stupid shit that gets the Rams up early, they have a good shot of beating us.
As for the Patriots vs. Chiefs, I don't even have an opinion. I read some of the betting stories, and there is no clear way this game could go. You'd think the "over" with 55.5, but also with potential single-digit weather, you don't expect a super high scoring game. It's usually suicide to bet against the Patriots in the playoffs, but I don't know how they go into KC this year as anything but an underdog. KC has a checkered recent playoff past as everyone knows. But this is a different team under Mahomes than Alex Smith, so it's kind of up in the air.
We're doing breakfast at my house that morning before the game. I need to find a decent strawberry topping/compote thing for crispy/fluffy waffles - which I'm about to scour the web for.
Well if you bet with me last weekend sorry that you lost 75% of your bankroll. But after careful consideration of multiple factors I have arrived at two lock picks this week.
Rams +3.5 Chiefs -3
I know, I know, I'm going against the experienced qbs with the young bucks. But when an old guy like me concedes that experience won't matter this Sunday then it's time to book it. Rams and Chiefs in the super bowl. SB over/under of 77 anyone???
Edit: I look forward to Esteban or LD (or both) telling me what a dumb bastard I am on Sunday night.

just giving ya shit. fucking favre throwing across his body when we had that game in the bag

I was a little slow on my bet this year, but the lady friend and I each just donated $25 to the Carolina Boxer Rescue for what was absolutely another fascinating season to experience as a cats fan.
I won’t call you that but I do hope you will be wrong.
Well you should be nice. My fellow IU alum Tracy Porter has the two most famous pick 6's in Saints history. 4th qtr NFC championship off Favre, 4th qtr super bowl off Manning. But of course Purdue boy Brees got all the MVP love with somewhat pedestrian numbers haha. That colts loss was easier to swallow because I had a preseason saints future bet at wonderful odds.

Thanks man. Y'all did more than you had to. I figure boxers (canine ones) are in my extended family, so we appreciate it. Tough season for the rest of the NFC South, but we're still standing as of now.
I’m thinking the successor will be either A. Dan Campbell / TE coach for Saints, played for Cowboys B. Joe Lombardi / QB coach for Saints, USAA member for life C. Mike Kafka / QB coach for Chiefs, Mahomes’ coach

Both of the Saints you note are well loved here, and I hope they both land head coaching jobs and find success. I also hope Dennis Allen will get another opportunity to be a head coach. We definitely have some talent on the staff.
Saints TE Ben Watson is our with an appendicitis. That sucks because this would have been one of his last couple games. You know we would have featured him for a last hurrah.
Time to start partying. I really want to talk shit, but this isn’t a game to do that. I will say I think we are the better team, though the Rams are right there. May the best team or whomever is the better team today win.
City is electric. First drink is a blood orange and naval orange screwdriver.
^^delicios. I never had blood oranges with this red of juice. It’s good.

Saints/Rams feels like the headliner today. I cant go against Brees/Payton at home in the playoffs, even though i am almost leaning towards the Rams in the 11th hour. Both teams have awesome two-headed dogs at running back. Both teams have strong defensive lines, although losing Rankins will hurt the Saints. The offensive lines will be the difference. Saints 31-27
Chiefs/Pats is an easy one. In the Brady/Belichick era, the Patriots have been in Conference Championship road rematches from a home game in the reg season twice: vs Colts in 2006 (Pats lost both) and Broncos in 2013 (won reg season/lost conf champ) Today will be the third time this situation has occurred. Just like in 2013, theyre playing against a qb that has thrown at least 50 Tds. This is probably the 4th worst team in the B/B era and have gotten lucky with division + that 2 seed home game. Chiefs 28-19
