I am still uncertain how many people will be joining my group for Bonnaroo this year, but most likely we will be leaving from Fort worth on Wednesday unless I meet up with friends in Dallas which will probably happen.
It looks like I will also end up going to 35 conferette, my roommate has been jobless for a while and is now a volunteer. Gonna try to take it easy since sxsw is the week after and lots of walking and riding my bike will be required.
I have only been to a couple of the venues in denton, Hailey's and Rubber gloves. That along with The Flaming Lips free show, Lucky Lou's and The Pita Pit is my knowledge of Denton. I wrecked my car coming back from Maserati and Mono in 2009. I prefer driving to Dallas, but have no problems with the commute for the most part. I live right off I-35 in fort worth.
I'm driving in from Houston. It's my first time going, and as of right now, I'm going alone. Not sure what my plans for staying are yet.
I'm wondering if driving in each day, or camping will be easier.
Camping for sure. Remember everytime you drive in, your vehicle is subject to a search, which is gonna slow things down quite a bit. Plus camping on the grounds is part of the experience!
just a heads up and it sounds lame. but we are trying to make a fb for the texas people to make it a little more noticed than the boards/threads. And its a little easier to communicated with one another.
I'll be leaving from houston but meeting a group in Austin. Its all tentative as of right now, but if it goes down i'll post and try and join in on some of these caravans! I also may have 2 seats available in the car for anyone who might need a ride.
Garth Algar: Do you ever get the feeling Benjamin's just using us?
Wayne Campbell: Good call. It's like he wants us to be liked by everyone. I mean Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes everybody liked. They left that to the Bee Gees.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

Hello!! I live in San Antonio, my friend and I want to meet up with some people as well. Maybe hitch a ride or I could also drive (I've got an SUV and room for 3 people.) We still aren't sure, we do know we would like to meet up with a fun group of people, maybe some that have been to the festival before. I see a lot of ATX peeps, so we could even drive up to ATX and meet up w anyone heading out to the festival.

Tickets purchased, promotion and time secured off at work the same day. Glad to see Shrek is headed back to the farm. Huge caravan in the works. Let's parrrrrty Tejas!
"Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum. I am my own god. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us." — Charles Bukowski

The Arcade Fire Dallas presale might still be going on if it's not sold out yet. It's at www.arcadefire.com/shows $45 for pit tickets.
I am thinking I will knock this out so I can focus on MMJ at Bonnaroo. Only way I would miss it is if Nocturnal gets the Chemical Brothers. I am not planning on that since I can't get Friday off at work due to inventory.
Alright well we went last year and we know somewhat to expect. But we would absolutly be down to caravan together. Most of us are UTSA students couple under 21 and a some over 21. The bigger group we have the better (the party)it will be. The sooner we plan the better
Another Texan headed to Roo this year! Coming out of Austin, TX. I'm flying up with a friend, and meeting another buddy from Birmingham.
Rideincircles, I seem to run into you online all the time. You are everywhere. I've watched many of your videos and make a lot of concert videos myself. It's weird how many of the same festivals we've probable been to:
Coachella 2007, 2010 Bonnaroo 2009, 2011 Lollapalooza 2003, 2008 SXSW every year 2004-2010 ACL every year 2004-2010 FunFunFun Fest every year All Points West 2009 Vegoose 2007
I want to go to Glastonbury, as I see you have done, but haven't managed to do it yet. It's weird when I see your videos from various small shows (eg. Talib Kweli @ Scoot Inn, St. Vincent @ Antone's) that you were at since I was there too and those shows probably only had a few hundred people. Anyway, just wanted to say what's up since I see you posting on every message board and all over YouTube.
My boyfriend and I are going to apply to be volunteers this year. We went in 2009, had a great time, but are trying to save instead of spend money this time around. We both live in Austin, and would be interested in carpooling with our car(s) or hitching up with some other people. It'd be great if we could get pre-festival spots and carpool with some other volunteers! Get in touch with me if it might work....obviously I'll know more after volunteer stuff is sorted out.
Hey, I don't know how long they'll be doing it, but a lot of people dropped out of volunteering for 35 today so they're having an emergency volunteer signing at Dan's right now. Just got signed up, they really needed another few people for thursday and friday as of an hour ago.

thekube you seem to have gotten a head start on me, but yeah we have been to quite a few shows. I still have a bunch of footage in my archives to reupload.
Glastonbury is pretty much the epitomy of how to put on a music festival, I wish everyone could follow suit, it's hard to comprehend that they a turn a farm into a musical village. Gonna try for 2013 if possible, but it's not easy to get tickets now.
Anyone else going to 35 conferette? I got there late last night, but my friend had an extra wristband so I was able to catch cut chemist at least. I will be heading up there late tonight again for Japanther. I have been farting around with my fisheye lens attachment, but still haven't gotten a DSLR yet. Looks like I won't have one until Bonnaroo or so. It can take great photos with good lighting, but when it's dark it has long exposure times. Will try and post my pictures and videos of cut chemist from last night after work.
Also, I will be heading down for SXSW Wednesday night - Sunday. No definitive plans yet, but will probably hit fader fort Friday. If it's not 2 late to get my Pure volume house badge, then hopefully Moby Wednesday.
On a sad note regarding 35 Conferette, my roommate is volunteering and one of his friends who was gonna volunteer at 35 died in the house fire in Granbury with six people last Sunday. I had known him for quite a while also, it looks like his funeral will be during sxsw, but my plans were pretty much set.
My roomate and I are headed to Roo from Austin. We will probably need a ride, but are looking at some options to drive ourselves also. I went last year too and had a blast! Just finished sxsw and it looks like a fun summer festival season. We're camping out at Nocturnal Fest next!

Leaving from Arlington, looking for someone who might need a ride. Wanting split gas and drive time, I have dependable vehicle and will be going solo other wise.

I am leaving from Collin County and would love to join in the carpooling fun, but I'm stopping in Arkansas for a day or two to visit my brother (and borrow some of his gear). I'd love to meet a bunch of you at the farm.

Hi everyone!
I am leaving from Dallas on Wednesday to get there a day early and not stress out with the drive. Definitely have 2 friends, possibly more coming, and I really like this idea of carpooling, or at least caravanning!
It's so great to meet cool people, and festivals like 'roo make that more possible than usual. This will be my first Bonnaroo Experience! I was at Coachella '10 last year (one word: e.pi.c), and ACL '06-'09, so I'm keeping the atleast one-festival-a-year thing alive!
Looking forward to caravanning/'pooling and meetin' some bad@$$ fellow texans, peace!
