Curious if Cruel World and Just Like Heaven are happening next year. I feel like normally there should’ve been some noise by now, but the silence is interesting.

Cruel World did say they were coming back and that Echo and the Bunnymen were returning but I haven't seen any dates or presale info. Just like Heaven didn't post a "see you next year" so who knows if it'll return or not.

Look how they announced TANP. We didnt get much warning and that was first week of December. If they were going for the pre black friday money then things wouldve dropped. So next month might be it before GV goes dark til Jan 2nd. Although the interesting question here is when Cruel World would be. Certainly not the same weekend as Sick New World and theres a few acts you easily could see on the poster like KMFDM, Sisters of Mercy, Machine Girl and Prayers. And if GV was trying to compete with Vegas they wouldve done something already and let people decide.
I’m far less excited about Echo at Cruel World after seeing their Ace Theatre set. It was fine, but a bit on the dull side. Really hoping The Cure headline that fest next year.

Eh, i think theyll do another multiple stand at the bowl instead. And you cant risk another Pasadena Daydream or Cruel World day 1 next year with The Cure headlining. Dont think theyll enjoy being part of another triple digit day weather wise. Neither will the goths.

God, I hope they don’t play the bowl. I love the setting of that venue, but it brings in the worst “fans.”
thats a huge stretch unless its their final show. they played a 1000cap venue here last year
Performing Sing The Sorrow in its entirety? You really wanna bet against this not selling out? They sold out Long Beach Arena before so whats the difference here with an album play.

i just didnt know they had such a big draw there, mind blowing to me

In LA? They live in LA now even though theyre from the Bay Area. They sold out 2 nights at the Palladium along with 2 nights at Hob Anaheim for this tour theyve been doing and that accounts for 10,000 tickets. People gonna fly in for this one. All they have to do is price the tickets smartly and add a couple of solid opening acts.

Dozens of $5-range tickets for Arcade Fire on Wednesday on Stubhub, many of which are pairs. Fewer for the Thursday show, but I think that's because so few people bought for 2nd night to begin with.
This is what it looks like when a band dies (or when you build a fandom based on social consciousness and then act against that very thing).

The ironic thing is the show might fill up because of the $5 tickets.

Fill up, it did not. They closed off the entire 200s level section, covered it up with a black curtain, relocated everyone (I doubt there were very many) people who had 200s level tickets to the 100s or floor. Even after doing that, it was still only 75% full. Compared to Wednesday night, which felt like a true sold out show at the Forum.
