Big Ears 2019 is proud to welcome Iranian kamancheh virtuoso Kayhan Kalhor with Brooklyn Rider, electronic sound explorer Jlin, jazz master Matt Wilson’s Honey & Salt, the extraordinary cellist Clarice Jensen’s collaboration with visual artist Jonathan Turner, Rafiq Bhatia’s Breaking English, and Coupler’s live score for the film, Dragnet Girl.

I've already added 4 artists in the "Must See" and 4 in the "Want to See" columns of my Big Ears 2019 spreadsheet. So I'm definitely looking forward to the event! Still hoping for some "No-F'n-Way" name drops. Magma! David Sylvian! Squarepusher! Talk Talk Reunion (or Mark Hollis Solo!) [ok, I know the latter isn't going to happen... but one can dream].

Looking at previous years, I'd guestimate we probably have about 1/5th of the total participants announced (there are typically some repeat slots, and some collaborations between participating artists, that fills out the schedule) - does that sound close? I'd love to see that drone set return as well. I didn't make it last time, but if it happens again, I'm determined to be there...
