Emily Eavis just tweeted that Prodigy were booked for this year...have to think some acts will do some type of tribute considering they were the first electronic act to ever headline the festival.
People who are traveling overseas for Glasto - how do you acquire your camping gear? As I stated above Cosy Camper will not be on site this year, which is irritating as their order-ahead, pickup-on-site service was perfect for us (we'll be traveling around England the week prior)

There were multiple vendors selling gear when we went. We did not bother preordering and it worked out fine.
My friend who is going this year (and who has never been to a camping festival!) is asking me about how much she should plan to spend at Glasto. I'm not really sure what to tell her bc I've never even been to Europe, let alone Glasto so idk how much is reasonable. Can you bring your own alcohol into the concert areas? See, these are Qs i don't know the answers to.
She doesn't do drugs, so no need for an extra curriculars budget, but she does drink. She's doing accomodations through Glasto, so that's already paid for. She just needs money for food, drink and merch.
I told her about $1,000 for the 6 days, at a bare minimum $100/day. Thoughts?

If she is staying on the festival site any alcohol that she brings in can be brought to any of the stages. Not sure how it works if she is staying in Worthy View. Also, dont forget no glass and no single use plastic bottles will be allowed onsite, so if she wants to bring liquor it will need to be transferred to a different container.
Also, make sure she uses the lockups to store anything that she doesn't want to risk getting stolen or losing anything important (passport, cash, etc.).
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

The time I went I just took all my gear with me. Why spend money on cheap camping gear you will only use once when you can spend a little more to get high quality, portable equipment you can keep? Buy a backpacking back pack, be smart about what you bring, and buy all your food/drinks at the festival. Its a very doable approach. Besides, do you want to be in a $40 tent if it decides to be a rainy glastonbury?

Yea she’s staying in Worthy View. Are they in a different area of the grounds where they won’t be able to walk around with their alcohol? That’ll make a big difference in cost. 🙁

Whereas general camping is mixed in with the rest of the fest, Worthy View is outside the festival fence. But there is no restriction on bringing your own alcohol in. As said, no glass allowed as it's a working farm the rest of the year, but plastic containers are only banned from being sold on site, not being brought in.
Meals are £7-10 [$9-13] (although many of the traders are signed up to a scheme to sell something substantial on their menu for £5 [£6.50]), beers will be around £5 [$6.50], cocktails a few £s more, soft drinks a few £s less. Fruit is sold on site really quite cheaply too!
The lockups mentioned are free (with donations accepted), the programme and timetable are free, there's even a free newspaper that is printed on Thursday and Sunday. None of the micro-venues have a surcharge, save for NYC Downlow, the infamous gay club, which takes a £2 [$2.50] charitable donation from you in return for a stick-on moustache.
I like getting some of that fruit I mentioned early in the day to help rejuvenate after the extensive nightlife scene at Glastonbury, as well as maybe breakfast snacks I've brought. Then lunch, then dinner, and carry round a bag of calorific, energy-giving nuts. Maybe some late night churros or something? (~£3 [$4]) If I get a resale ticket I'm gonna bring some Haribo sweets [candy] out after hours both for me and to hand out, haha. That's how my eating goes generally. I tend to carry a few cans of beer to drink slowly earlier in the day, and a small bottle of spirits to mix with cold drinks bought in the bar later, as well as cold beers from the bar, plus the occasional late night cocktail. I also bought a 2l bottle of coke if I passed a stall selling convenience store stuff, but that won't be happening this time with the plastic bottle selling ban.
There are numerous traders' stalls selling all sorts of stuff, like clothing, accessories, there's a really cool place that sells gorgeous concert posters from gigs all over the world, but I never come home with more stuff than I arrived with.
Overall, on top of what I have already brought with me, I budget to spend ~£20 [$25] a day on food, ~£30 [$40] on drinks, plus an extra £50 [$65] to be on the safe side. So that's a total of £300 [~$400] and I usually come home with plenty left over, and that's without being particularly frugal. In 2017 I think I ended up spending about £200 [$260] total on site? Of course, that's having brought 24 cans and 1.5l of spirits with me, there's the big money saver, so your mileage may vary. But I hope all that info is useful.
My personal recommendations, the Brothers' cider bar on the side of West Holts stage field, they do strong flavoured ciders. It's labelled B BAR rather than Brothers Bar, as strong brand advertising is not permitted at Glastonbury. And No Bones Jones, awesome awesome vegetarian food I get every time. Rather than ordering anything specific, they give you some of everything in a big bowl, and it tastes so fresh and flavoursome, especially when you've been going hard on your body for a few days. So good. ^_^
I’m legit a little concerned for her. She’s never been to a camping festival and is a little naive. I don’t think she quite understands what to expect. But we’ll see how she goes. I’m trying prepare her! Lol.
This feels very mediocre for Glasto. The only thing on there that feels impressive is the Miley booking since I didn’t even realize she was performing again.
Soft on top but still already twice as many people I'd want to see compared to Coachella (deepest lineup we have here for my money). I'm sure lots more will be added too since usually they look like they go on forever and this merely seems like a normal number of acts for a 3 day fest. I'm impressed!

Pretty decent lineup, as usual. Seeing this doesn't make me anymore upset I was unable to snag tickets this year, but there is definitely enough of interest that I would be entertained if I was attending. Remember, the festival grounds are enormous; a person could only catch 9 or 10 of those bands.
