Some more details around the Block9 expansion...looks like the big addition is IICON. It's being described as a 15,000 person "deconstructed arena" with a 65ft video-mapped "anonymised head". The venue is debuting at Glasto then they're taking it on the road to LA, NY, Sydney, and Shanghai. Have to think they're booking some pretty big names with a venue that large.
West Holts just annonced their lineup as well as a daily breakdown...Jon Hopkins is headlining Fri, Wu Tang on Sat, and Janelle Monae on Sun. Also, they added Jeff Goldbum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra and Roy Ayers to West Holts.
Not getting tickets has been a gut-punch. I've come to define myself in part round that festival. It powers me up for the following year, fills me full of love. Buuut, I'm getting to terms with it, and hell, maybe I'll still find a way in!
I was in the same situation in 2016, LCD Soundsystem headlining, I'd never seen them, I **HAD!** to be there! I even sent Al Doyle a very heartbroken tweet saying as much. I ended up getting a very late, very tough job to be there, and it was absolutely worth it. On the Thursday a guy running my favourite little stage, The Crows Nest, saw I was on my own and had a really cool talk with me, showed me the (normally secret) full lineup for the stage, and said he'd give me a beer if I came up that night for the... Al Doyle DJ set! It was an out-of-this-world great night, I showed him the tweet I'd sent a few weeks before, he reached over and hugged me tight, the rest of Hot Chip arrived and danced with us all, the night seemed to last forever... anyway, yeah, Glastonbury!!
Getting close now, so any of you lucky ticket-holders have any stupid or not so stupid questions you were too afraid to ask, hit me. xx
Arcadia confirmed no "spider" stage for this year. They're building a whole new production called Pangea. It's being built around a 100-year oldshipping crane that they bought and are currently installing and will be part of the production. Some people on eFests are pretty confident Gesaffelstein will be on it one night.

This just some shit you made up, you little weirdo?
Goto eFests and look in the Electronic thread...I dont know how accurate those people are but they're throwing out Carl Cox, Gesaffelstein, Skream, and Andy C as acts that are going to be in Arcadia this year.

I have most my schedule figured out now.. Tried to leave lots of time to explore and stumble around.
Thursday is loose except for Ross from Friends and John Digweed. Want to try and take in as much as possible.
Friday: the Vaccines (so happy about this add) > Sheryl Crow > Lukas Nelson > Lumineers > TDCC > half of Tame > half of Interpol. LN: Carl Cox > Four Tet
Saturday: the Burning Hell > half Lizzo > half Johnny Marr > Liam Gallagher > Jungle > little bit of the Killers > Chemical Brothers. I'm going to try and book it down to see Hot Chip. But I'm thinking that's not doable. Hope they pop up somewhere else during the weekend.
Sunday: Mavis Staples > Slaves > Baby Metal. MY BIGGEST CONFLICT Miley, or the Good, the Bad & the Queen.. God damn.. > Vampire Weekend > the Cure

Unless you found a way to replicate yourself, its not possible to try most of what you want schedule wise. Its easily half an hour to get from John Peel to Williams Green, and thats if its not raining for example. Just saying.
Here's a movie about the late night areas of Glastonbury, circa 2011, coinciding with the Shangri-La announcement I guess. I'd hoped to post this in the wake of getting tickets, feeling all happy... I am distraught... but it's still very good!
And the one by the same director, from 2006, covering the origins of the festival a bit, etc. It's also great, perhaps the better of the 2. I like how his movies about the festival have day-night cycle, giving it a feel of being at a festival
Anyone know if Bellapads come with bedding? The email my friend got says "canvas tents" don't come with bedding and then lists the canvas tents. But Bellapads are not listed. Would one assume that bedding is included with Bellapads then?
