She was dropped like a good month ago by Mad Cool when they cancelled . But nobody is totally sure if she comes back yet. There has been zero word on her Hyde Park show, so ya never know. I think most people thing she wouldnt bother with a total one off and just push it all to 2022. Who knows, people want Billie Eilish to headline Glasto instead. I think Gaga is the fairest trade off in this scenario. Already murmurs of The 1975 having already been asked for 2021, but who knows how thats going to turn out because of all this. Im just glad McCartney is probably coming back as it was the only headliner I was going to see anyway.
I wouldnt bank on it yet. Could be an option though. Theres already the threat if the Chili Peppers coming into the picture. So theyre going to look like a uk boomer fest at the top after having Kendrick and Taylor? Doubt it.
The ticket sale page has changed and now shows that there will be a resale in April 2021 and no sale this October from the look of it. Lots of bands are announcing tours around the fest though most notably IDLES has a 4 night run in London the week leading up.
Edit: now a possible rumor theyre considering a September move just to be on the safe side of things. 😐
Yeah, glad they addressed it as quick as they did. And also stating they had so few people ask for a refund that they couldnt justify an October sale. Now we wait on artists announcements in a couple months.
I wonder for Glastonbury, but really for all music festivals/traveling events in the next 12-18 months, how they will deal with the fact that some areas of the world will likely have access to the vaccine before others. Broad strokes geographical bans seem pretty harsh, and I don't think a festival should have to confirm that every attendee is vaccinated.

Yeah, its going ti depend on the governments criteria I figure more than anything. The head organizer for Reading/Leeds just did a recent interview stating that they were going to implement a testing program. What that will entail is up in the air for now but seems they have large ambitions on what needs to be done. But also that theyre are gonna have it happen come hell or high water. I mean if there was a totally dependable rapid test that was affordable for festivals to acquire then its going ti be rather smooth, but anything can get derailed.
Lots of rumors flying out right now about a 2021 postponement. The recent news in the UK is obviously not encouraging atm, but Emily says not to expect an official announcement either way until next year.
Yeah there is a twitter account that went super specific on what was going to happen today and then Emily addressed it at least. If the Oxford vaccine gets its approval before the end of the new year then itll jumpstart vaccinations for sure and hopefully get things trending in a better direction. But the uk being placed on travel ban lists is not the best thing to see right now.
I think logistics for talent are the biggest hurdle to even move it to sept. Everyones already going to be booked over here at Bonnaroo and such so it would be a tough thing to try. Plus a lot of acts would have just been at Reading/Leeds so theres some fatigue there
Kind of expected with the turmoil of Brexit and the visa-crisis for UK/EU-artists still fuming and covid going for another wave there, nontheless still sad.
Yeah, that seemed inevitable as much as I would’ve liked it to not be given that the situation in the UK is pretty bad right now. Oh well, better safe than sorry.
Didn't they say they might do something on a smaller scale in the fall or am I thinking of something else? Don't think they would tease the pilton party like this since it isn't open to the public.
