Infinity Draft

Are we considering Coachella as one show or two?

Is Crosby Stills Nash and Young or Simon and Garfunkel that different than Dre & Snoop, name wise?

I've no idea, last draft there was some discussion about Ye and Jay being egible as a duo or not because you can basically draft them as a novelty act and then you could've get them for free after that as a free agent. Now this draft is, ofcourse, different. But I'm just saying.. 

I mean, better before the draft than during and having several polls.

I mean there are artists that have literally never performed live. Are they draftable?

If you draft an act, all members of that act should be ineligible to be appear in any capacity at any other festival occuring at the same time.

The whole point of this draft is to not do that.

Fair. I just really dont want to deal with a dispute every round over this. But, that's a solid point.

I think the best rule is no rules (except you can't take someone that's already been drafted).

I got all excited about this draft thinking "great! Infinity draft means people won't be getting all pedantic over every choice, by nature of this game's absurdity" - but instead, you might just turn this into the most rule-laden draft yet.

I agree with what CDevaney posted earlier today about how Neil Young = Neil Young & Crazy Horse, but Neil Young =/= CSNY. Use a bit of common sense when deciding if an act is really a solo artist with a backing band, or if it's a separate project with its own unique sound. This is Inforoo... we will call you out on it and put it up in a poll if you try to pull a fast one. And we will vote harshly if we think you're wasting our time.


In a draft of this scope, I think there should be a rule that supergroups don't lock in the individual members (e.g. Watch The Throne doesn't secure exclusive rights to Kanye & Jay-Z). I'm not as fussed about the reverse. If one person has Jay-Z and the other has Kanye, Watch the Throne is off the table unless they can work out some sort of deal together.

That was in 2012 with one show in 2014 so they weren't eligible in previous drafts.

I was and still am excited about watching this turn into a massive letdown for everyone that believed it would be anything more than that.

Why don’t we start a private thread as we did prior to this & make our picks there?

Edit: After the participants are finalized of course.

Based on what I've seen in Mafia, Taint will lose interest as soon as drafting starts.
