I'm all for The Strokes too. Arcade Fire would be an interesting choice - not sure they'd be headliner tier at Firefly. Didn't they have trouble selling out Festival Pier in Philly last year?

Pretty much their whole tour didn’t sell well. I think it would be terrible if they were top 3. At this point in the careers, they are a #4 at most. If they are top 3, you better have a damn good 1-2 duo.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
Rezz would fit here I think. Compared to the potential EDM we could get I'd consider her a win.
I'd be cool with Rezz, I just saw her recent tour and that would be a lot of fun late night. I could also see Zhu getting late night. Maybe bring Disclosure back. I think there's a good chance we get Rufus next year too but I think they would fit more on the Backyard or something pre-headliner.
Realistically we'll prob get hit with Marshmello or some shit but I'm trying to stay optimistic.

If only we were so lucky. The top line seems possible but after that it's 5 lines of 2nd/3rd line artists IMO. Really don't think we're getting Bassnectar (to the dismay of no one on this board except me lol). Would love to see Paak, Paramore, Virtual Self.
Adding Kero Kero Bonito to my personal wishlist. They'd be a bit left field but not too far off-base for Firefly. They just finished a (seemingly successful) US tour so hopefully they'll be active again by June.
Realistic undercard but depressing. AJR, Lovelytheband, and Two Feet are some of the worst acts to come onto the Alt Nation airwaves in years.
I'll take those headliners in a second though. Sia would be a great get too.
Saw Two Feet at Life is Beautiful and thought they were fantastic but I know what you mean.
Yeah I know some people love them! I'm just not into the bass-heavy alt-rock that's come into vogue. AJR and lovelytheband are just the most generic alt pop-rock that I lost interest in years ago after Walk the Moon and Foster did it better.

Not basic enough for Firefly.
I dont know why everyone has this idea of what "Firefly" is for this year. They just got purchased by Goldenvoice and the one thing that GV has said publicly about the acquisition is "Red Frog identified a fantastic site, a great partner in Dover International Speedway and had a vision that they executed really, really well,". They just wanted the location and the name recognition, this fest could go in so many different directions especially with panorama not coming back
Panorama with the scale and camping/logistics of Firefly sounds great to me. A shift that severe could irritate a lot of Presale buyers though.
I doubt they will go directly to a full on Panorama type lineup. Perhaps more Panorama like acts, but we’ll still be seeing the Post Malone’s of the world at Firefly, let’s not kid ourselves.
For sure. The new owners have to be well aware of the state of Firefly (bro-rampant, campsite parties over music throughout the day, etc). The optimist in me hopes they curate a lineup to help mitigate the negatives there.
Curate a lineup that gets more diehards to the fest, which inherently gets those diehards in the gates earlier, buying stuff on the grounds earlier, etc etc... Catering to the college crowd only there to party does not seem sustainable long term. Maybe it is who knows - I'm not in the biz of running festivals. Maybe long-term success isn't the goal.

This isn’t going to turn into FYF east. For one, it’s in Delaware. The current demographic is college kids with a few colleges near by, and that’s a very sustainable model. It’s the reason why the fest has done well up to this point. The best thing that could happen is the GV tie in gets some gems thrown in. The worst thing that could happen is they continue in the same direction and the fest stays popular with the young folk.
I could be wrong, but other than Goldenvoice also being part of AEG, it seems they aren't involved with the fest this year and it's all Madison House Presents. Not sure the impact that would have on Firefly incorporating Coachella/Pano elements into the fest this year, but I would definitely love if Firefly could still get that Coachella Main Stage.
