Foo Fighters 2.0 sounds about right. I’ve given up well ever get another legend headliner, or even something marginally unique like Nine Inch Nails or QoTSA. I think it’s rap and recycled acts from previous years with whoever decides to festival whore that particular year. Maybe something lucky like the Strokes.

Dates are June 20-23 (still not sure if it'll be 4 days though). Fully owned by AEG. If Panorama is done, maybe Firefly will get some needed upgrades. Hopefully ticket prices won't be crazy.

i think this is good.
hopefully they'll improve the stages, expanding beyond hip hop/pop/alt/rock/cheese edm is also good. I wouldn't mind losing thursday as well. Best thing they mentioned is improvements to camping.

Dates are not different. It’s the 3rd weekend (Fri-Sun) in June like always. Father’s Day is the 3rd Sunday in June every year. Glastonbury is The 4th weekend in June. Like always. Nothing has changed folks. Just AEG taking over. I really hope we get that gorgeous Main Stage though
I’ll sacrifice the big screens if they book a little more like they did in 16. The past two years have been atrocious. I’m sure they have sold fine enough but yikes the lineups have dropped an embarrassing amount in quality
Pearl Jam | Frank Ocean | Gorillaz | Tame Impala | Sia Bassnectar | Cardi B | Kygo | Run The Jewels | Pretty Lights Cage The Elephant | Paramore | Interpol | Young The Giant TV On The Radio | Matt & Kim | Griz | Mac Miller | Zhu Danny Brown | Milky Chance | Adventure Club | Tune-Yards

Pearl Jam dream is over for this fest now that’s its completely AEG. They completely hate AEG

best case scenario - AEG recognizes this is the only major all genre camping fest in the northeast and turns this into coachella-light worst case scenario - they dive hardcore into making this some hangout/mia hybrid of shittiness
realistic case scenario - minor incremental improvements to booking quality, production, and festival experience that come with a huge corporation backing it, and you can't really tell much of a difference.
Being a young festival, firefly doesn't really have an identity, but it has a core group of dedicated attendees. They're in a pretty good position to do with it what they want.
I'd just like a midcard that doesn't fall off the earth 20% of the way through the lineup.
For real. This year was especially bad in that regard. I still can't get over that fucking friday night pre-headliner slot and having to choose between Cold War Kids, logic, or god damn cheat codes.
I think having somebody new book the lineup should hopefully be a welcomed change for Firefly. Hopefully a lot of the booking patterns of the last few years will stop as well, like booking so many damn washed up rappers. I'm curious how many people actually went in to see Warren G this year.
