Robyn announced a US tour and is skipping Philly. I can't imagine her playing this but maybe I'm wrong?
She could definitely play this as the 5th-8th name on the lineup. Firefly is always good for at least 1 or 2 out of the box gets. Robyn still has hits so it wouldn't shock me.

This would make me happy
I mean, if they are going to keep refusing to do opposing headliners and keep prices the same, then the subs for each of the now 3 days should be pretty huge gets. Foster the People or MGMT shouldn't be playing that spot (even though I enjoy their sets).

not firefly related but 104.5 is doing a mystery show 11/19 at Xfinity in philly. anyone have any guesses who will be playing? Im assuming Foster the People. The only bands that make sense would be Of Monsters of Men, Bastille, Cage the elephant? The other names are too big or dont make sense.

They are in Mexico City 2 days before. Not impossible but I really hope its not them.

thats a pretty fascinating way that they are doing this. So it is just which ever band shows up is the show? For the record, I predict Muse

it would appear so. Never been to one if they have done this before. im hoping theres a leak the day of or days leading up to it.

Muse announced a radio show in Chicago recently and just dropped an album obviously so I think that is the most likely one. They wouldnt put up all those names then have it be one of the least popular ones
General Admission (GA): $229 plus fees VIP: $679 plus fees Super VIP (SVIP): $2499 plus fees
I've seen a lot of people complaining about the new prices. If the lineup has more depth and quality, then it'll all be worth it. I mean we should be grateful that we aren't being charged Hangout prices:
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol

I've seen some complaints about the price and did a little digging on what I paid in previous years. I couldn't locate what I paid from a couple of the years, but otherwise:
2013: $278 after fees (Didn't buy until May so this was probably a higher price tier) 2014: No info 2015: $289 Before fees (Initial on-sale price after lineup drop) 2016: $289 Before fees (Initial on-sale price after lineup drop) 2017: No info 2018: $200 Before fees (Pre-sale) 2019: $229 Before fees (Pre-sale)
IMO 30 extra bucks for a pre-sale ticket really isn't that bad, but bitches will bitch.

the real truth is that people are still mad about losing that extra day. I find it decently interesting, because I think now the fest will have enough strong acts to be able to walk in at 1PM or so and have strong choices until 2AM, however from my experience at this fest a lot of people didnt want to head in until 4 or 5 every day because of the day drinking at the camps.
2012, I paid $213 after fees. There was no pre-sale that year as they announced the lineup when they announced the festival. In 2013, I bought the pre-sale right after the festival and paid $163. I started going VIP after that year because of the overcrowding so I can' really compare the early bird prices. That is a bit of a jump to a 3 day festival, but as long as they come with sound/stage improvements or additional artists to schedule against headliners I think its ok.

Do any of the AEG/Goldenvoice festivals do more than 3 headliners. Everybody is mocking 4-5 cause that's what Firefly used to do, but it seems like they might go back to 3?
Happy they went back to 3 days. Hopefully they go back to a predominant indie rock festival too.
I would consider coming back if that actually happened. I did the first 4 years of Firefly but didn't particularly care for the overall lineups after that. They are obviously trying to cater to pop/rock, hip-hop, and EDM tastes, which seems like a sound business model but is not my cup of tea. I've been doing Shaky Knees instead, would highly recommend.
Very into the RHCP concept. Firefly singalongs are the best if they keep unopposed headliners.
Please no RHCP. There are enough alt-rock headlining acts you can get without having to recycle one whose been on the same tour for like 4 years. Just go get Arcade Fire or The Strokes if they're touring again.
