I’d really like Tom morello to come back. I think he’d be a cool person to be featured in a superjam as well. He could pick some pretty interesting song choices
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

he’s overseas during Roo I think. I’m pretty sure I asked awhile ago on here cause I want him on the farm too.

Ah that’s a shame. His show in 07 was a good time and now that he’s touring electric I’d be even more excited

Yeah I love his work as a guitarist but he has no business being a solo artist. His song with Portugal was one of the worst listening experiences I’ve had all year. Watching him in interviews is pretty painful too.

I still think Aphex Twin would be so damn amazing at Roo. A set which would be talked about for years after.
Oh for sure, it's just difficult to think of a universe where Roo books Aphex Twin. There just aren't many US festivals period where Aphex Twin is worth his asking price. Even an oddball niche festival like D4N apparently lost money on him.

Aphex Twin would be amazing. Virtual Self last year was a great booking & one of the more unique sets they've had at Bonnaroo in years.
Was it even the most unique set at Bonnaroo 2018? Thinking Bon Iver set 2.
Oh, definitely Bon Iver. But, also, last year did a way better job of delivering unique performances than the past couple of years prior. Bon Iver, Virtual Self, the best Superjam in a while that also served as a phenomenal tribute to a legend, Cage barn set. Only really unique 2017 set I'd say was Kidjo (and the Superjam but that's a given), off the top of my head at least.
Bonnaroo '15/'16/'17/'18/'19 - ACL '13/'14/'15/'17/'18 - Fun Fun Fun '14 - SXSW '13/'14/'15 - FPSF '16
2019 Shows: 4/30 - Vampire Weekend 6/28 - Father John Misty & Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit 9/6 - Cardi B w/ Teyana Taylor 9/28 - Vulfpeck w/ The Fearless Flyers

Angelique Kidjo was the best show of that year! I hope I can afford her show when it stops by!

I like when Roo USED to book different acts that no one else had. They have gone away from that unfortunately.
They’ve had some good ones the past three years (Dead and Co, U2, Bon Iver, Sturgill, etc), but it’s definately gone down. I never understood the logic in booking generic acts you could see at any city festival and expecting people to come to nowhere TN to see them.

Posted in the headliner thread too but no MMJ this year, August shows are "only dates this year"
Right, ‘cause they could announce they’re playin’ Bonnaroo before the lineup drops. I have no real reason to believe MMJ will be on The Farm this year, but I’ll remain hopeful fer now. Although a lot less hopeful than before.

The only loophole I could see is that they said those are the only "shows" of 2019 and maybe they wouldn't view a festival set as a proper show. But that's stretching. There'd be no reason for them to say anything if they had more dates lined up

Their website lists the news as "2019 Headline Shows Announced" and says that these are the "only planned live performances," which seems to give some leeway to the possibility of non-headlining festival sets. I could still just be dreaming though.

How're y'all feeling about Death Cab for Cutie? Skipped out on TN during their tour which ends in February. I'd enjoy seeing them at Roo. Also, Robyn. pls.
