For those who have purchased tickets - how long does it normally take for this to sell out?
Four days didn’t sell out last year. Thursday and Sunday are easy, Saturday sells out fast, probably within a few hours, Friday is generally also hard but not as bad as Saturday.
4-day GA passes sold out eight days after the on sale began last year; I’m not sure if VIP passes sold out or not.
Maybe I’m just confusing that with Thursday and Sunday not selling out?
they added passes later in the year for a bit but it was sold out for about 4 or 5 months. also had a lot of random places that had tickets, Citi, other places like that. didnt feel like a sellout but it was technically a sell out
ok cool - thanks. Sounds like if we buy them this week we won't have an issue getting tickets. This is going to be my first lolla experience and I will be traveling from out of town so I am open to any tips or advice!

Above all else, being a good, comfortable pair of shoes because you will be walking a lot.
I'm no stranger to festivals so the basics should be covered! I will definitely have comfortable shoes and drink plenty of water. Do you think Lolla is more or less walking than Coachella or Firefly. I can't imagine it could be much more than either of those two...?

Compared to Coachella, probably a similar amount of walking if you bounce between the north and south stages. It's close to a mile on asphalt, which makes a big difference to me. Add in a long walk to and from the hotel and my feet are usually burning as much or more than a day at Coachella.

Lollapalooza is way bigger than Coachella. You’re on your feet all day at any fest, but it’s a mile between the two main stages at Lolla and Coachella at its furthest points is probably not even half that.
Plus all the walking and standing you’ll do if you go to any aftershows. I bring it up because Lolla kills my feet more than any festival I’ve ever been at.

I did one day last year including an aftershow the night before and afterwards questioend how people do 4 days in a row lol. granted, seeing vampire weekend play a-punk three times over was well worth it, but still

Firefly's maximum stage to stage walk (Lawn to Firefly main) is about a half mile, over mostly natural turf, stones, dust, wood chips or mud. Spacing and scheduling usually minimized sound bleed issues, and there was a decent amount of shade to be found. But- it was about a half mile walk from parking and camping to the entry gate, including the back and forth serpentine line. The walk back always seemed longer...
Lolla looks to be only a couple blocks walk from nearby hotels to the entry gates, yes? Maybe that saves some steps?
I've opted for housing that is very close to the entrance and exit. I sleep through anything so any additional noise/cost is worth the cut down on transportation to and from the fest.
The strategy I usually take is to plan the following: - 1 day checking out as many sets as possible which usually leads to a ton of walking. - 1 day to check out the things the fest has to offer with beer gardens/breweries/food etc. Usually end up spending most of this day on a nearby stage - 1 day partying which could lead to any number of things - 1 day sleeping late and getting in late to recover
Based on who I want to see, I will try to plan accordingly!
