Top 4 would be great. I think 5 is a little high for SZA. Not sure she's a headliner or above Cardi B
She’s #1 at iii Points and one of our posters who helps put it together said she was more expensive to book than Gorillaz, but I suppose you can switch her and Cardi around just as easily.
I guess I haven't been paying close enough attention to her lately. But thats kind of insane that one album can cost more to book than the Gorillaz. Either way, with a top 4 you suggested I wouldnt necessarily care who the next 4 are.
It’s definitely too good. You’d have a clusterfuck on the South stage most nights without solid draws on the other side. I just wanted to throw Gaga in there because I think her whole aesthetic now fits Lolla to a tee and she’d be their first female #1 act.
If we’re being realistic, you’d have to take out at least one of those four to beef up the 5-8 spots.

If you keep Foo Fighters and The Strokes you could give me whoever you want to round out the top 8. I wonder what kind of crowds the Foos and Strokes would draw with the Lolla demographics how they are now. Cardi B im sure would have a huge draw.

Flume on the north could be okay. Its all crowd control though. If they have a good sized draw headliner on the south the same time Flume is on the North I think that would be okay. I just don't think Flume is quite top 4 billing yet.
Just checking the North stage is the one Post Malone and Gucci Mane played on last year?
Yes.
Yeah, so just put him on there, put Bob Dylan or whatever on South, some flavor-of-the-month EDM on Perry's to draw some of that crowd away, and I think it will be fine.

That's the thing.
Flume drew all of the people OUT of Perry's.
Have you seen the footage of his 2016 set?
He played against Adventure Club and Haim. He just needs some decent counterprogramming.

That show was way too crowded. Literally got pushed to Perry’s just because I couldn’t break free of the crowd. Still got a good spot for lcd tho.
4-6 range but I also don’t think Lolla books The Strokes.
She's 5 at Hangout and Lolla is much bigger than Hangout so I feel like thats a little high for her? But I think the Strokes are more of a wishlist choice.

I think if any major festival books The Strokes this year, it’s Lolla. They booked Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem in the top four each of the last the three years. All those hit the same demo Strokes would. They’d probably get outdrawn on the other side of the park by a Cardi B just like AM did this year, but Lolla doesn’t seem to mind that. Gives the adults something to see away from the riff raff.
Logical fit would be ACL but they were there in 2015. Maybe OSL or Voodoo? If they’re not here, it’s hard to see where else they’d fit festival-wise in 2019. Hitting up Lolla/Osheaga to kick off a run of NA shows makes a lot of sense to me.

That Hangout billing is wonky. Saw someone say each two names is probably each nights HLs which makes sense since it would create good diversity so I’m assuming that’s what it is.

X Games Festival in Minneapolis announced for the same weekend as Lollapalooza.
"Check the breakdown for all four days below:
Thursday, August 1: Chevy Metal (cover band led by Taylor Hawkins and Wiley Hodgen of Foo Fighters) and SWMRS Friday, August 2: Wu-Tang Clan and P.O.S. Saturday, August 3: Diplo Sunday, August 4: Incubus and The Blind Shake"
Does Chevy Metal being there give Foo Fighters a legitimate chance of being at Lollapalooza? It shows that the Foos will be in the US that weekend even though they are surrounded by European dates.
Does the possibility of them playing Bonnaroo help or hurt Foos chances at Lolla?
I think it definitely gives them a legitimate chance of being at Lolla. Them playing Bonnaroo won’t hurt their chances either as we’ve shared headliners with them all the time. I think the Foos doing that aftershow last year locked them in. They probably told C3 that they would do the aftershow and Lolla if they let them play Wrigley first.

I think there’s a decent chance they bring The Cure back if they’re doing a fall US tour, especially if they book them Thursday or Sunday to drive up some single day sales.

There was some hope for the Cure but they announced a show in Russia on Saturday of Lolla
