So in. And this time I will just take a week off and bum around Montreal in either the lead up or the following week..
If I show up a week early I can hit Just for Laughs fest and Heavy Montreal if either are any good. If I stick around a week later I can hit up ilSoniq if its any good. Guess I should wait till all are announced to figure out that part.
As far as headliners..
I want an Arcade Fire hometown show already damn it.

Am I the only one here who saw Arcade Fire headline Osheaga eight years ago? It was lit. Doubt they'll play next year though, since the Everything Now era is ending this year.

Yeah decent chance theyll just take the year off to try and record an album that isnt as divisive... Good news is I am sure theyll be easier to book soon.

Yeah they have been touring for a while.. Just wishful thinking.
Tame Impala with a new album probably makes the most sense for the rock headliner... Or at least I hope, because every other option I am thinking of off the top of my head just isnt all that good.
I feel 21 Pilots are a solid choice to book for a "rock/hip hop" act that has a lot of youth pull. I can't think of another female headliner that isn't a full pop act. Lorde was just here.

No way sir. I love the optimism. But they have never even had one stadium level act at this festival, much less two. And I am pretty sure they didn't make the grounds any bigger. They just renovated it.

Possible rock headliners: Green Day Jack White Mumford and Sons Tame Impala Twenty One Pilots The Killers Nine Inch Nails Foo Fighters The Strokes Tool
Thats all I can think of unless Arcade Fire plays a one off or The Black Keys reappear out of the ether. Gorillaz seem like they are a hard no given how long they have been touring and the rumor that Good The Bad and The Queen will be active next year.

I believe you were there in ‘16 when they had RHCP, Radiohead, and Lana, who all play stadiums. Then and now.

None of those are stadium acts. Maybe you mean arenas?

I honestly don’t differtiate I know football stadiums hold more, but I feel like bands just play wherever is free. Macca has played both the arena and the stadium here in philly in the last 4 years. Beyoncé is Beyoncé. I feel like if Firefly almost had her Oshy sure as hell can.

Nah Osheaga is about 50-60k ppl. Firefly can hold 80-90k.
Beyoncé does not care who she’s playing for as long as she’s getting paid. Oshy has gotten some inexpensive headliners the last two years. I bet there’s Atleast one big one next year.

I agree w the Arena V Stadium thing. I read that capacity at the park can handle 65k but that's not necessarily in the plan. They might as well stay with what works and have some wiggle worm to work with.
Since the plan is to increase the capacity 20, 000 next year I could definitely see them pulling some big stops.
Is the plan to increase by 20k? I dont think I have heard that anywhere before.. If it is true, then yeah they could probably start booking stadium acts.

I remember the old CBC article that showed the interpretation of the new site said from 45K to 65K. Or maybe 40-60?
