Little underwhelming for my tastes, but I was also pretty pleased to begin with so it's fine.
@dragon Energy, you usually seem up to date on the bleep bloop music; is Charlotte De Witte worth my time? I spent 10 minutes listening to her Tomorrow World set, and I wasn't impressed

she’s getting pretty big but I personally am not really a fan. I think she’s pretty basic and uninteresting.
Really really considering pulling the trigger on this.
Anyone who's been have any quick PROS and CONS for me?
Also, has anyone done the Gold (VIP) pass, and is it worth it? If so, what are the best benefits?
Staying in downtown Montreal works fine logistically, given that the island is accessible by subway.
Quick pros:
-American dollar goes further in Canada than in the USA. -Crowds are chiller than in America. -Schedule works well in terms of cross-programming at all hours. -Picnic Electronic area is cool. -Getting to explore Montreal. -Easy to smoke weed.
Quick cons:
-Not many water fountains when I was last there (in 2016). -Main stage area is dusty. -Beer and food choices aren't that special. -The festival uses a fire hose at the main stages to cool people off, which is great during the day but not at night when it cools off. -Beer vendors that walk through the crowd, which is a distraction if you staked out a good spot and are trying to follow the performances.

Mobile beer vendors a con? Shiiiit, that was my favorite thing about Primavera Festival when I went.
A friend just told me the walk between stages is insanely long, with stairs, and she thinks even longer than the Lolla North/South stage walk. But she thinks its moved now from the site she was at. This true?

Oh, mobile vendors definitely have their pros too, I just could have gone without. That's all.
Yes, the festival will now be back in its old location. The walk between the two main areas was 15 minutes back in 2016, so while it was longer than I would have liked, it could have been a lot worse.

I have never been to Lolla and only went to Osheaga last year at the temp site. However I will say, the food and beer choices are meh at most vendors. If you seach though theres a craft beer vendor and a line of gourmet food truck. As far as the main stages, they were essentially two opposite ends of a football field. from the furthest point to the piknik stage was a 20-35 minute walk depending on crowds. I know at the original site, the two main stages are just side by side, but not much about the walk times for the other stages.

Ive never been but am pulling the trigger as well this year. The gold pass seems like a no brainer at the price. Maybe thats just me. But that terrace and the bathrooms and entrance seem worth it

The gold pass area has gotten really crowded and isn't really worth it. The beer/drink vendors are great, except for one very tall guy (who is super nice, but also super tall...) I think the food choices are great - tons of really good food trucks. Craft beer hasn't really made it to Canada yet. There was one "craft beer" truck last year. And even that was pretty weak. We've gone the past 7 years, so obviously we like it. It's a great fest.
Btw, the new Chemical Brothers album is really cool. Solid move to have them as a headliner this year.
My friends and I were originally just going to go Sunday of the fest and hit the city for the rest of the weekend for my buddies bachelor party, but now a few of us (including the guy whose bach party it is) are highly considering going Saturday too for the Chemical Brothers. I'm loving their new album and just started diving into their discography. Seems like I'd be foolish to miss out on their set when I'll be in Montreal already.
