This might be anecdotal, but I thought there were more people at fka Twigs' set than at Beach House that year (started in the crowd for Twigs but got to Beach House after Shamir ended, so that might skew it). Correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, the Sufjan set that year is a Top 5 all-time performance, just ridiculously great

Had to miss Anderson .Paak for Sufjan in 2016. If he subbed here that'd be a perfect makeup opportunity, but my assumption is he'd have to headline if he played

andy is definitely headliner level now (and i even realistically see it happening) but who knows now
Today's the day! I'm gonna go cry my eyes out at Mount Eerie and then dance my ass off at DJ Koze immediately after

Just today! If I was local I probably would've swung it but just tonight was pricey enough as is. Also did Sudan Archives and about to catch Yves Tumor

Ok general thoughts:
-Entry/exit was a total breeze; no real lines anywhere beyond a brief wait to get into one of the rooms to see Yves Tumor. Very convenient, but I'd almost rather there be just a little security than none at all if that makes sense? -I didn't partake in any of the food or beverage selections, but I did overhear a person saying the alcohol selection was superior to most other festivals he'd attended. -The location itself was just gorgeous. Four total rooms that required tickets, plus some free performaces (saw about 2 minutes of the girl from Circuit des Yeux singing a capella) in the main stairwell and a number of themed soundscapes placed strategically throughout the museum. The first "venue" was near the main entrance, while the other three each shot off from a rectangular hallway surrounding an outdoor courtyard. Staff required all foot traffic to move one way through this square which was annoying when there was no one around but actually made things really easy to navigate (and also probably lessened the chance of anyone bumping into any art by accident). I really enjoyed checking out some of the peices on my way to and from sets (even though I don't know jack about art history or anything).
In terms of the specific acts I saw: -Sudan Archives: Really fun way to start off the evening. She performed solo, but had multiple violins and an electronic pad which made for some really nice textures. Aside from Nont for Sale I don't really find too many of her songs all that memorable, but she's clearly talented and I didn't regret spending the $15 extra to check her out. -Yves Tumor: WAY louder and wilder than I expected, holy crap. I only had listened to the most recent album due to the hype it got from Pitchfork and on here and bought this show on a whim, and I have a newfound admiration for it now after seeing it live. He played in a more open standing room area (same place JPEGMAFIA and Joey Purp will be on Sunday) and spent multiple songs in the crowd dancing and singing directly in people's faces. Just him singing along with tracks but I was still enthralled. Would absolutely recommend seeing the set if you get a chance! -Mount Eerie: Not what I came in expecting, but still really sweet and enjoyable. I gather this was his first performance in a hot minute (he mentioned feeling awkward and nervous)... I'm pretty sure it was his first public show since getting remarried, because he didn't play anything from Now Only or A Crow Looked at Me and said he "hadn't thought of himself as a performer in so long". Anyway, he played a few older Mount Eerie songs (which I'm not super familiar with), a few covers, and two new songs (one sounded like a sequel to "Distortion" which I loved, the other sounded a lot more like older Mount Eerie). His voice was gorgeous and he seemed quite shy but also so happy to be there playing. Really loved it! -DJ Koze: Just a blast. Pretty sparse lighting available in the setting but dude kept everyone moving pretty constantly throughout. Interpolated parts of his stuff on record as well as some other recognizable vocal snippets (New Dorp New York by SBTRKT/Ezra Koenig was a highlight). Left a bit early since I had to drive straight back from Chicago to Indy that night, but didn't want to leave
Overall, really neat idea. Great acts booked, LOVED the venue, still wish it had been a bit cheaper. Unless they drop prices or book something just impossibly good next year (like, Bjork level), I probably won't make the return trip. But this was still one of my favorite festival experiences ever! (not that I'm really a veteran)

We have him next month in a wilder setting, so if it came off hard in the museum setting, I’d be even more enthusiastic and make an effort to get to that set or even part of it in the event of a strong conflict. Predominantly young and white (shocker). Started off a bit shy but the dancing and energy increased pretty steadily throughout the set to the point I moved back a bit after 4 or 5 songs (not a big mosher; love me some personal space). My guess is that it would probably have been wilder outside of the setting of an art museum, so if that's up your alley I'd get excited! I was surprised because none of those songs sound particularly hard on record, but yeah it was a whole different animal live.
The rest of my weekend will be significantly less exciting: I only went up for Friday. Definitely having FOMO for serpentwithfeet, Kamasi and Panda Bear tonight... my guess is none of the bigger acts will crossover and play the summer festival but if they wanted to rebook serpentwithfeet that'd be just peachy for me
