Any thoughts on why ZIG may be thinking he would be better off going in the run-off with you instead of Pablo? He provided a reason that makes sense for the game as a whole (having voting information from 3 independent players rather than 2 players and one who is in the run-off so his vote is 100% predictable). But generally a player who is in a run-off and has any control over who they may be going up against may change their vote so that they have a better chance to survive. His vote change shifted who would ultimately be making the final decision, and he knew one of those people (me), was advocating to keep you around, so he was still really setting it up so that we are going to get more information off of two players, but it is two different players than it would have been (Danbob and Jaz vs LD and SFA).
Simple Math. If I were up against Pablo, Pablo had a revote. So that meant under no circumstances would I get Pablo’s vote. That meant I would have to get BOTH LD and SFA (2/2). By switching, I now have to get (2/3). Plus it’s giving the town more information by requiring new players to revote.
Except I already told you my intentions, so you have to get 2/2 of who remains, however instead of it being both LD and SFA, it is both Danbob and Jaz.

Well, he certainly wants to get rid of whoever is in the run-off with him. And had I been in his position, I would have moved my vote to the player I think I have the best chance against, if I had a choice. So he may feel like Dan and Jaz are likely to want to keep him over a new player. Or it could be that he is Mafia with Pablo and he wanted to narrow it down to just one of them (this is the most unlikely scenario, because the odds are pretty slim we got that lucky right off), or he could be Inspector and you are Mafia and he has your name.

There are a number of other scenarios that it could be, as well, of course. Voting against a certain player, trying to shape who is in the game later on, etc.

However, on a look back Thor bumped zig to three with about 6 hours remaining in the round (AKA plenty of time to go back to a 4 way). All we needed was one switch until thor came in and basically guaranteed the runoff would be a threeway. I'm worried that zig has gotten this far just because he's an easy excuse and people aren't a fan of his play style.

Since I have only played those limited number of games with him, and you have played more, do you think it is because his playing style pisses people off, or do they find it to be such a distraction to the game that it is detrimental to the town? I was pretty surprised to see players saying what they have said so far about him being in a run-off, like that it is a wash between a new player and himself. Personally I think I remember a few rough interactions with him my first game or two coming back, but had no issues with him thereafter. I sometimes tend to put a rosy glow to things, though, so maybe I should go back and read some of the games again.

Well it is my first game so I've been hesitant to discuss especially since I don't quite understand it completely. And again voting for me instead of voting for zig just because you don't like other people's reasoning doesn't make a lot of sense. You could vote for him for a different reason.

Yes he definitely pisses people off, including myself, but I personally never thought he was detrimental to town. Just annoying. However, he contributes to games where everyone is quiet which is more of what we need imo.

First, six hours is not a lot of time at the pace this game was going. There wasn’t much activity and not much reason to believe it was going back to a 4-way.
Second, where were all the people screaming that it should be a 4 way and imploring folks to move the runoff back to 4? It was obvious to me that things were going in the 3 way direction and ZIG was going to be a part of it, as far as I’m concerned, because he’s the one who got that ball rolling.
