Can't really find a reason to vote for zig here that makes any sense. Both thor and potent have said their reasoning is because he bumped someone to three and thus the 3 person runoff was created. However, on a look back Thor bumped zig to three with about 6 hours remaining in the round (AKA plenty of time to go back to a 4 way). All we needed was one switch until thor came in and basically guaranteed the runoff would be a threeway. I'm worried that zig has gotten this far just because he's an easy excuse and people aren't a fan of his play style.
First, six hours is not a lot of time at the pace this game was going. There wasn’t much activity and not much reason to believe it was going back to a 4-way.
Second, where were all the people screaming that it should be a 4 way and imploring folks to move the runoff back to 4? It was obvious to me that things were going in the 3 way direction and ZIG was going to be a part of it, as far as I’m concerned, because he’s the one who got that ball rolling.
6 hours is plenty of time tbh. I know zig said he would’ve switched and I would have backed off if needed to preserve the runoff (even though I would’ve hated it).
I personally wasn’t screaming because I had faith the runoff would sort itself out, but I can’t speak for others. It wasn’t obvious things were going to a three way until your vote.
This one's a bit of a toss-up. At first it seemed to me as if Kanye was being coached, but given that he has indeed played this game before, I don't really have much suspicion of him. I do have ideas about who might or might not be Mafia if he does turn out to be nefarious, but I'm not wont to voice those ideas at the moment.
I also don't have any particular reason to vote for ZIG, though I would like to state for the record that my vote for him has nothing to do with his vote or playing style. I just have more notions on Kanye, and if any are them are right I'd like to see where him being alive takes us. And if they're wrong, then it's a toss-up anyway.

carini12 I know that you are volunteering to ref and I appreciate that. Is there any reason this round is lasting so long? Most rounds have felt extra long. If this round began at 10am this morning - which I think it didn't - it would be fine to end it at 10pm Wednesday night.

Good point. I must have mixed up the days last night. Round will end Wednesday 8/22 at 10pm Eastern. Note I have hockey at 10:15 so I might not be able to enter the thread to close the round. If there isn't an extension request or a vote change in the last hour consider the day done at 10 if I'm there or not

Yeah, not to harp on Carini too much but I think we've discussed this sevearl times and a 24 hour runoff is typically fine. It can always be extended if discussion is on going.

Yeah, if you look back there's little discuassion of what's actually happened in the game. Not all that weird for the first round but sorta weird for 7 pages.

I’m going to go ahead and vote like I said I would. This is not the run-off I was personally hoping for. I’m not locking my vote, but don’t want to stall the conversation while people wait around. I’d rather vote and get the conversation moving because I can always change.

Things that I find interesting but may mean nothing:
We have 4 players that have only voted once: Pablo and LD (Initial Kanye votes) Maddog and Potent (Initial ZIG votes)
All four are also in the bottom half of post contributions so far. Maddog and Pablo, although closer to the middle at 6th and 7th, respectively, are both quieter than normal. Potent is quiet, but his history is a bit more scattered. Thor is also quiet and not contributing.
Jaz, Danbob, LD, SFA all seem to be contributing the the amount that I would expect for Day 1.
LLL is more talkative than normal. Not sure if that’s a byproduct of when’s she’s been voting but it’s interesting that she’s essentially had the final original vote each round so she’s been playing in a bit of a power position.
Kanye, no history. Seems to have quieted up a bit hoping to survive regardless of role.
I am consciously trying not to bloat my post counts, because it gets ridiculous sometimes and it makes it a huge pain in the ass to quote myself (and for others I'm sure).

I honestly don't disagree with this switch but could you give some thoughts on why you're making it?
I agree that throwing noobs under the bus this early is lame. but i also want to win lol so idk. Also I don't know what the stats are for someones first game being mafia, but I don't think it would be too hard to play coy if it happened.
My initial vote was random and a little bit of trolling. Zig is pretty helpful when town, he's also pretty helpful for mafia when he's town some times, but I think it's disingenuous to say he won't be helpful down the line to town.
I also don't think that what he did with his vote was very out of line with how he normally plays, or how others play as well, I don't think it's that rare of an occurrence. It's also not something that should be attacked right away, town/mafia both make that move, and everyone but Kanye should know that.
It's hard to go off post counts and content at this point in the game, so just going gut on this one.
