How is nobody voting for jambands? Bonaroo started as a jam festival and everyone seems to be longing for the old days...
besides if I drafted based on what I thought would get votes I never would have signed up due to the fact that I would have had zero fun
i think when people are pining for the "good old days" of bonnaroo they mean 2013-2015.
having said that your lineup got one of my votes.
and cdevaney trey solo doesn't undercut phish. i love TAB but if phish is gumbo TAB is soup with okra. still good because okra is awesome but it ain't gumbo.

Out of curiosity when would you have drafted Phish if I didn't? I thought I could wait past round 2 but I was scared of you taking them.

that's a good question. my drafting strategy was not solidified at the beginning, so I started with David Bowie and Coltrane because IMO they are possibly the two greatest musicians of all time. When I saw everyone else was drafting older rockers I saw an opportunity to swoop in on some rarer electronic acts, so I got Aphex Twin and the Chemical Brothers, then a brief foray back into rock with King Crimson, but then I went Underworld > Autechre and at that point I pretty much knew I was heading in an all electronic direction.
But if you had not have drafted Phish in round two, I think it is highly likely I would have drafted them in round three, simply because they are my favorite musicians of all time. I would never have traded them, despite how odd they would have looked on top of my lineup.
I don’t want to lose votes so I will not comment on okra.
I'm a man of principals, and I can't handle the slime-ness of un fried.
i used to only love fried okra and okra in gumbo, but my wife has such a deep love for slimy okra that i've become a big fan of okra and tomatoes as a side.

Nah. I actually have him with Dave & Friends and in a jam session.
My point wasn't that Trey is Phish, just that if you have the choice between seeing Phish or Trey with a bunch of other kickass musicians you might be willing to bypass the Phish set in favor of something rare because you've probably already seen them a dozen times.

yeah not a big tomato guy, okra and tomatoes is basically a nightmare situation for me. (I have never had fried tomatoes though, maybe thats the jumping off point)

a reasonable assumption, and likely true for the majority of live music fans.
but as insane as it sounds, i would still rather see two sets of Phish than a Trey superjam in almost any lineup configuration, even after 60+ shows. I realize how ridiculous this is, but i've accepted that i'm a ridiculous person.

fried green tomatoes are a totally different ballgame from raw/stewed/sauteed red tomatoes for sure. having said that i don't go as bananas for fried green tomatoes as other southerners do. i think they are one of those fried foods that are just a vessel for corn meal and whatever sauce you put on it, the tomatoes themselves don't contribute a lot of flavor to the dish IMO.
how do we always end up talking about food in every thread?
Someone make me some gumbo and send it over so I can report back
yeah you need to get you some gumbo!
So you're sending me some, right? I wouldn't trust someone up here to make me a decent gumbo, just like I wouldn't trust someone near you to make clam chowder.
I make a wonderful gumbo. Chicken and andouille sausage.
So you're offering to make me some? It should be know I have shared my clam chowder with multiple members of inforoo so there is a precedent.
I can’t think of clam chowder now without thinking of Eleanor on The Good Place calling it “basically a savory latte with bugs in it,” and “hot ocean milk with dead animal croutons.” But I don’t eat anything that lives in the water anyway, so I was probably biased against it to start with.

I use 5 sticks of butter in my chowder, you'd love it.
