Very seriously considering this (weekend 2, will be my first fest since Shaky Knees some years ago). I’m a lazy, bad current music fan... so if you know my tastes through the now playing thread or elsewhere, are there any undercard acts I should look into? This is one of very few festsI’ve seen in the last few years that I’d go see most if not all of the top lines. I’m trying to work my way through the undercard and acts such as Idles and Gogo Penguin have really stood out, and I know there’s a lot more there. I’m actually really looking forward to the Bruce Hornsby set as his most recent album is amazing.
Rosalía, The Comet Is Coming, Natalia Lafourcade, Orville Peck, Julia Jacklin, Caroline Rose, Still Woozy are some of the undercard that you might like.
At this point if you're genuinely considering, only tip is Hurry. Tickets are selling out, but more importantly, Austin living is expensive in general, each day that passes, harder to find reasonable housing, unless you're down for a hostel type situation. Or car-livin' which I'm down with. Financially responsibl"D!

Thought I would throw together my by day list of acts I'd like to see
FRI G N' R, Tame Impala (probably going to have to miss), Raconteurs, Thom Yorke, Tyler Childers, Jenny Lewis, Kaytranada, Fidlar, Cherry Glazer, Weyes Blood, The Comet Is Coming
SAT Gambino, The Cure, Billie Eilish, Gary Clark Jr, James Blake, 21 Savage, Kali Uchis, Brittany Howard, Tierra Whack, Men I Trust, Dylan LeBlanc
SUN Cardi, Spacey Kasey, Lizzo, Lil Uzi Vert, Rosalia, Banks, Bruce Hornsby, Joseph, Idles, GoGo Penguin, Duckwrth, Julia Jacklin, Nilufer Yanya, Billy String, Faye Webster
Saturday night is going to be all conflicted and I'm going to have to get to the park early again on Sunday. I'll check out some of my unknowns once the schedule drops. I'm open for any recommendations.
Debating on springing for this. Any tips / suggestions?
Buy a ticket?
Thanks Captain Obvious. More like, locations to stay, restaurants, transport to festival grounds, etc.
Although after originally asking the question I realized I have a family wedding during week 2 which was my preferred week so maybe a festival isn’t in the cards for me this year.
LOL, and you're welcome. Let me know if things change, and I'll fill you in on shit. It's a good food town with a lot of options, many eclectic. So if you do go and wrap a couple of non festival days around the trip, there will be some good opportunities.

I've got 3 friends on board for this! I'm super excited, booking the AirBnB next week! I have a few questions for those who have been. Typically when is the schedule released, when does music end, and are there aftershows that will be announced?
Here are some key dates from last year. Seemingly no pattern to what day of the week things were being announced. Obviously the sell-outs could come any day, but I'd expect the others to be on the same day of the week.

I don't remember when the aftershows are announced, but yeah there are aftershows, and the park has a hard 10PM cutoff.
Okay awesome, thank you!! I'm really stoked, this is the first non-Bonnaroo festival for me. I know it's a city fest so it's not really going to compare but the weekend 2 lineup is so stacked for me and I have heard good things about ACL. I've never been to Austin so hoping to have some time to play in the city a little bit too.
Just got my ticket!! Lineup-wise, I’m more excited for this than most of the Bonnaroos I’ve attended. The Cure and Robyn alone almost get me there- will be my first time seeing both. But the undercard is so fantastic too. Really stoked to branch out and try a different fest
The wife and I are about to jump on Weekend 2 tickets! Just booked Airbnb last night!

Something came up and my crew can no longer attend weekend one. We have four tickets, looking to sell for face/fees/shipping. We are on the payment plan, so we can ship as soon as we receive the wristbands. Would prefer to sell them all together or in pairs.

if no one needs them in here you should be able to sell the tickets by logging into your ACL acct and them let you resell and handle through that. With being sold out might be easier too. Just trying to help out.

There’s generally affordable lodging almost all of the time. Check Booking.com. Habitat Suites is almost always available, cheap, and ya get a full kitchen/detached living room. Worst comes worse I’ve even dabbled in their local Motel 6’s. They are fine. Obviously weekend 2 is the easier ticket and probably less of a hassle re: lodging. The tickets this year have kept their value though so as others said you should probably act soon-ish. At the very least you can reserve a room on Booking often without prepayment in case you need to cancel.

interested in a pair, have my airbnb already but waited too long on tix.
I know we're like a month off, but I'm really ready for this schedule.
Same.
Have you seen the mock? It's in the third post.
Yeah, it made me get more realistic about conflicts in the evening each day (i.e. Thom Yorke and Jenny Lewis on Friday in the mock) and that I'll have to do some research on afternoon acts other than Julia Jacklin and Taylor Bennett, but it looked realistic. I'd also love James Blake into the Cure on the same stage. Lizzo into Robyn on Sunday would make my partner (and me) very happy.

Sego is probably my favorite pet undercard act that I've discovered. They've done cafe stages at Desert Daze and Roo the past year or two. They remind me of Beck and Butthole Surfers.
Overall, there was actually a lot of stuff I liked on Sunday, and that's the only one I've dug really deep into.

Thanks, I'll definitely have to check them out -- they sound like something I'd love. I haven't been able to do a deep dive into the last few lines because of school and shit. After 4p all three days is great for me though (and, inevitably, going to be full of conflicts).
The Raconteurs Oct. 6th in San Antonio at Aztec Theater.
Yeah & on that note - Aztec show announcements have been a pretty good indicator of which acts are likely to play night shows in Austin as well the past few years.
