Enough of us for an inforoo meet up? I feel like there is 5% chance these ever happen. I may get a day ticket to w2 since it looks like ill be in town.

Need some opinions. Huge Jack White fan and The Raconteurs are playing a show near me in New Orleans. But i dont wanna pay for this one if they are most likely playing an after show during w2 when I’m coming to ACL just because that’s the one i would want to go to but does anyone know if there’s a good chance of them doing an after show w2 or of they’re more likely w1? Don’t wanna miss out on both i guess too for waiting.

They are playing a show Sat/Sun/and Mon after BOTH ACL sets, so if they do one after show(if so, it would be @ Stubbs), it would have to be the Thursday before one of their ACL sets.

They are coming off a pretty nice break from their tour before ACL WK.1, so I would bet on that Thursday.

Edit: I have a weekend 1 pass already as well.
If it's weekend 2 i'm in. Ideally at a brewery that serves bomb food.

One of these 2 ,trust me........best beer and food.
First time in Austin and first time ACL attendee. Can anyone suggest some restaurants or bbq wven on a higher scale. Gonna be eating festival food throughout just want some ideas for the day before and the day after we fly in and out

Veracruz for Tacos (or Tacodeli for chain tacos that are actually tasty). Matt’s or Mi Madre’s for Tex-Mex. El Alma has solid Mexican food/cocktails and an outside roof kind of setting if the weather is right. It’s hard to find bad bbq in Austin, but I actually prefer Valentina’s over the big names (Franklins, Kerlin, Micklethwait, etc). While those all live up to the hype, you don’t have to wait in any lines at Valentina’s. It is like 10-15 minutes away from downtown though, but worth it. If you’re up for ice cream and burgers, Amy’s is pretty good. There are a couple of locations around the city. Aside from food I can’t recommend Pinballz enough for video game fans.

Big foodie, and have opened a couple nice restaurants in Austin. Here is what I love :
BBQ :
La Barbecue
Mickelwait
Terry Black's(on Barton Springs....close to ACL site.)
Interstellar (new.....really good)
Tacos / Mexican :
Duck Tacos @ ATX Cocina
Bone Marrow tacos @ Comidor
Suerte
Wild Boar Tacos @ Dai Due/Fairground
Azul Tequila (by a Target close to ACL site, but good)
"frozen w a chile rim" from El Alama(and sit on the rooftop)
Others :
Spicy Boys food trailer
East Side King/ Thai Kun food trailers
A Touch of Soul food trailer(get the Soul Eggrolls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and the wings....and the catfish.....everything.

Best BBQ in the region is in Lockhart which is the best BBQ in Hill Country (Kreuz, Black's, Smitty's). Forget Franklin's unless you want to wait in a line overnight/forever (you can reserve in advance if you spend enough, but that's like a couple bills and 2 weeks ahead). Micklethwait's is good, but you might have to wait a while, and they will run out daily.
Recommendation is to skip the higher end stuff and find the eclectic stuff. You could always go to Uchi which some of our people over that way swear by, but you don't have to since it's your first time visiting. And I've got another friend who eats at Odd Duck every time he's over there. Check out some of the "trailer parks" and solo food trucks. They're everywhere and have some crazy choices, many excellent though many might seem freaky at first glance. Research downloading a temporary app because there will be stuff you'll miss if you blink.
Best pizza I ever had there was Detroit style at the outdoor Via 313 on Rainey Street. They have some other locations around town, but I haven't tried any of those yet. Best burger I've had there was Casino El Camino.
You might also want to give a look at some of the local casual Austin places that have been around forever.
Polvo's - Cerveza Fajitas are the best I've ever had, salsa bar is killer and margaritas are great (interior Mexican). They have a bomb salsa bar. I only know the South Congress location, but they have a couple more now.
Explosions added Texas dates, 9/23 Midland, 10/25 Houston. They definitely can't play Wk2 based on touring, it's still possible they get added to Wk 1, but with being back in TX late October, and not going back on the road until Feb, it might be a better fit for them to be the mystery headliner for Friday of Levitation in November.

Uzi is billed 2nd at Rolling Loud NYC on the same day that he's booked for W2, wonder if they'll move him around or get someone to replace him.
Hopefully with Anderson .Paak
That would be best case scenario. Uzi is a bit more popular, but .Paak probably fits better with the demo of ACL. Also as one of the biggest Uzi fans on this site, He really isn't all that live, while .Paak is incredible.
