Has anyone else heard Flume accidentally playing Never Be Like You while playing another song TWICE during this set now? I am 100% sober rn please tell me I'm not hearing shit.
Wait I am so confused, why would W1 be the original lineup and then w2 would be the 2021 lineup?
Why wouldn't they be the same and keep 2021 lineup for 2021?
the 2020 lineup would be weekend 1 in April 2021, and the new lineup weekend 2.
this allows current deposits made to artists to be fulfilled and the current lineup to be executed while still keeping the festival moving forward.
Oh got it, I didn't read it well I guess
That would be pretty crazy and could potentially make me go both weekends if I could find a 2nd group.
This is one of my favorite lineups of all time and Frank Ocean is my #1 act to see live. So if I had to pick one weekend, I don't see W2 beating this for me
I think he picks one stage for the day and hits the rail the WHOLE time. Have no idea what is strategy is for restrooms, food or water.
He has left to get water or the restroom but its usually very early in the day. And yeah, he waits for the schedule and picks the stage that has the most acts that he likes on it and goes from there. Wouldve been incredible to have seen him with the Beyhive.
I wish I would’ve started attending a year earlier. I could’ve seen Hans perform those Gladiator songs live
The sound was terrible for Hans. They only had the front PA turned on for some stupid ass reason. So if you were farther than the soundboard it was not that good, plus it was windy.
And going back to the prospect of the mixed weekends. Lets say its a serious idea on the table among others. Is there anything stopping them from doing April and then October? So April is 2020 and October is 2021 on its own? The grass will have gotten enough of a break at this point, plus they have enough chances to have the amount of events they want. And then the hard thing is 2022 being the next April and you have 3 Coachellas in a year. From a profit standpoint is the only way they can make up for this year by having another 2 festivals. Theres plenty of bands to go around and the main concern is having to push back headliners they had ready to go and artists missing their windows.
I'll never forget my weirdest Coachella experience - at Jamiroquai.
A dude is being chased by security (? to this day not sure, bc I've never seen security IN the crowd, especially a tent) and sort of hides behind us. The dude literally SWALLOWS a big ass bag of white powder (honestly I assume Ketamine lol) and then the security guy is like "yo is this dude with y'all?" Me and my homie tripping balls are just like "no?" So confused.
So the security guy leaves, the dude SPITS the bag back in his hand and continues to dance through the crowd. All while wearing a Vote For Pedro shirt. Still this to day, we have no idea what the fuck happened.
My weirdest Coachella experience was also at Jamiroquai.
I was on the rail almost center, and near the beginning of their set I saw Tyler, The Creator standing in the artist/photo pit between the rail and the stage. He was easy to spot because of the cheetah print hair style he was sporting that weekend. The set continues, and I was dancing easily harder than I ever have in my life, and that's when I noticed that Tyler was taking pictures of me. Then at one point, we make eye contact, he comes up to me, fist bumps me, and says to me "Yo, I'm your biggest fan". Some girls standing behind me saw it happen and decided to push their way up next to me to try and talk to him, which is when he quickly walked away. It was pretty damn absurd.

Hahahahaa, your moves must've been crazy. Your music is great too, how'd the mix go yesterday?

Thanks man! Went pretty well, I really appreciate that! Thank you so much again for organizing the Twitch version of Couchella!

You missed your chance to be in a relationship with Tyler. You fucked up, bro
This disclosure set the visuals aren’t completely wraparound rn. So was the FULL panoramic introduced later or is it just certain times fully Pano? I’m trying to figure this out.

Not everyone had adapted their visuals to go with the full pano yet. Remember that's the first Year of the stage, so it wasnt an automatic for every act to have used the full potential. Radiohead didnt even use all of the screens in 2017 because they didnt attempt to adapt.

This is also way better than I remember. I still don't think it was the greatest performance or anything, but I wonder if he got shat on so hard more so due to unrealistic expectations than his actual performance. Production is on point, and the crowd is loving it. That being said, he could have been more creative obviously.
Also wonder if this would have been better received if he wasn't the Sunday headliner. Most people are pretty dead by then.
EDIT: Also holy shittt a lot of people were there. Crazy how you don't realize that when you're in the crowd.

I think the problem is it was a year early, since funk wav hadn't come out yet he was largely playing the same set as 2014 and it didn't seem like he deserved it without a new release. He also only played an hour and 6 mins, which I think may beat snoop and Dre (forgiven) as the shortest headlining set ever
Edit, if you saw Jay Kay from jamiroquai last night complaining about only 1:15 and getting cut off before virtual insanity, that's kind of extra funny
Yeah that's all valid. It's funny because now I can't even remotely imagine this on main stage. Doesn't fit the brand really. Feels like I'm watching an EDC stream or something haha. Big Room House was such a flash in the pan in America.
