I think the problem is it was a year early, since funk wav hadn't come out yet he was largely playing the same set as 2014 and it didn't seem like he deserved it without a new release. He also only played an hour and 6 mins, which I think may beat snoop and Dre (forgiven) as the shortest headlining set ever
Edit, if you saw Jay Kay from jamiroquai last night complaining about only 1:15 and getting cut off before virtual insanity, that's kind of extra funny
Yeah, and I was on the rail for it. They had started late as it is which was more frustrating because the act before went over for no reason at all to an empty Mojave I did end up on the stream at the end when Jay Kay goes into the crowd to hug that one crazy fan who came from Texas and had been waiting for years to see Jamiroquai.
This is also way better than I remember. I still don't think it was the greatest performance or anything, but I wonder if he got shat on so hard more so due to unrealistic expectations than his actual performance. Production is on point, and the crowd is loving it. That being said, he could have been more creative obviously.
Also wonder if this would have been better received if he wasn't the Sunday headliner. Most people are pretty dead by then.
EDIT: Also holy shittt a lot of people were there. Crazy how you don't realize that when you're in the crowd.
You realize it when you walk out at the end of the night if youre way up there. The most ridiculous crowd I felt I had to navigate was in 2012 when I was shooting and its Sunday night with Dre and Snoop, it was just slammed. Had to go from all the way in the photo pit back past the last row of towers to find my gf and watch the rest of the show and was still crowded back there. But do it while carrying 30lbs of gear too.

The nice thing is you can find so many of their shows online already and theyre ok with it cause they want people to see their stuff. Just hope they dig up something thats really not out there in such good quality for their next stream.
