Part of me loves the low cost and convenience of camping, but another, larger part of me loves fighting off my hangover with a beer in a lounge chair next to the pool every morning.
Yeah, I've camped twice and while both were certainly not ideal weather scenarios, it doesn't matter. Having a bed, shower, pool, and hot tub has such a dramatic affect on my ability to recover each day (not to mention my condition the week following the fest) that I can't do without them.
so strange, but I'm assuming that means Oysterhead is out?
Not that anyone cares but me
Are you talking about the show at Frost? If anything, having GV norcal shows around Coachella would make them more likely, but Oysterhead's Sweetwater 420 Fest appearance pretty much rules them out. Seems like they were at least in talks, though.
listen I understand the conveniences of an Airbnb or a hotel but only in camping can you lounge with a beer, watching the sunset over the mountains, while a cop rolls by and glares at you while your speaker is blaring and you’re singing along loudly to “Man! I Feel Like a Woman”
Car Camping all day for me. Have stayed at a house and a hotel and would only take those over camping if they were walking/biking distance. Shuttles, rideshares or driving kills it for me.

Yea, I had assumed the 420 Fest announcement ruled them out ages ago. I guess the timing of the Goldenvoice announcement just seems strange because (as you point out) normally this would signal they were in so perhaps I have a glimmer of hope?
I have Hayfever and I wore a mask the entire time while camping, other than when I was sleeping. Took a Benadryl every 4 hours and I was fine. Actually the first year that I didn't get sick at all after Coachella. I would get about 6 hours of sleep each night, for me personally it's enough to have energy for the day. I just knock out hard the Monday after.
Hotel advantage, come in day zero and indulge, then leave to go back to your bed.
Goldenvoice booked Phish for Festival 8, thats it. So if anyone wants to post a line up that says Phish on it, ill be here waiting like dr manhattan was on mars.
I don’t understand why people want a band to headline for a 4th time who already tours a ton.
The 4th year RHCP thing is interesting. It may be apples/oranges to a "less discerning" audience, but GV had no issue having Kenny/Church/Aldean headline Stagecoach 3-4 times over a decade or so. If it actually is RATM/RHCP, then I really wonder how they off-set the "sausage fest" balance of headliners if the high profile female who haven't played in the past 5 years don't seem to be logical fits. Maybe Frank fits more than Travis in this regard.
Rihanna (Final guess) I have a feeling we'll get Paramore finally, just based off of Zac the drummer of Paramore being weird about it at his Halfnoise show last Monday.
First, country has a much smaller pool of headliners.
Second, RHCP aren’t playing.
Are you saying that every global festival promoter found about RHCP/Frusciante the same time as the general public and they are only now phishing for 2020 headline spots?
