What likely lower-line acts should I be getting into folks?
(The last time I asked this a few years ago before 2017, the names I recall TME gave me were Mitski, Sofi Tukker, Bishop Briggs and the Lemon Twigs. I trust your judgement sir)

Could mean nothing but Kyle Dion is on the first half of Xavier Omar’s tour but not the west coast dates in February. Would be cool to see him get 3pm Gobi set.
amongst the audiophile community, which is mostly wealthy men of 40 years age or older, they are a big deal. i didn't know who Dead Can Dance was before my several year brush with audiphilia.
Should we be worried that an out of nowhere booking of Coldplay might happen? Apparently 2 new albums are coming, one of them next month. I figured they would just do a Parachutes 20th anniversary tour and thats it.

Not that I want or think it's going to be Coldplay, but I'd take a Parachutes show over whatever it is Coldplay does these days.

I personally wouldn't hate a Coldplay booking although the overall internet reaction would be horrible.
In other news, saw Tame at ACL and at a show here in Denver last night. I hope GV returns to booking headliners later in their tours with the kinks worked out. Jack White and Radiohead come to mind. Tame sounded INFINITELY better, had more live jammy sections, and structured the setlist more intelligently. Also got some rare Innerspeaker tracks (Lucidity and Desire Be Desire Go) that I was expecting them to break out at Coachella. Being the first show of the tour isn't good for anything other than bragging rights, and we all know better music is worth more than being first.

Totally agree with this. Would have loved to see Tame break out those tracks at Boston Calling or Osh, also the later Flume setlists and performances look and sound much better than his 1st show back at Osheaga.
Not that I disagree with you but Tame only added 2 songs. What kinks did they really have to work out?
They fired their Front of House engineer after Shaky Knees as their sets had some pretty obvious mixing issues (Coachella included). The mix was much better at these two shows so whoever they hired to replace is doing a great job. Elephant has a new live intro which is pretty rad. Let It Happen's build up was more dramatic and the effects sounded cleaner. The jammier sections sounded tighter/more practiced, especially Kevin's guitar playing. I personally think the adjusted sequencing of the setlist flows a lot better than what they were playing on their last leg.
Not that they had a bunch of flaws in their set to begin with, but it stands to reason that the 30th set of the tour sounds better than the 2nd. Just a bunch of minor changes that made the show overall slightly better.
Sort of a bummer Clairo had to play to a mostly empty tent this year. Girl has really had a great year post-Coachella and a great album. She'd be my option for "hope they book again" of the acts from 2019.
